It's a wooden handle, seems solid. I just figured the brand might have better/wood than random Chinese stuff

This is a solid and inexpensive hiking pole at a good length for me. It also holds a spearhead which is becoming important as I am beginning to get into photography while hiking in conditions that need a steady base. I have found monopods okay for standard photography and am having problems with small tripods for photographing small sized subjects with my phone while hiking. Put the spearhead in the ground, get a standard cell phone mount and Bluetooth. This is a steady hands free way of doing good photography under hiking conditions where conditions are less than ideal.

A little bit pricier the ones you could buy at the box stores, but seems to be a little heavier and laced if it gets wet will not rot as easy

The handles aren't very strong, it broke the first day of having it on my rake.

The end that secures to the tool has chips--a whole chunk is out of it. The only reason I kept it was because my previous order had been cancelled and I needed that handle for a job. It fit loosely in the tool and I considered gluing or nailing it in. But, and this is the reason for the 3 star rating, my cancelled order finally came in from another manufacturer. Both poles are the same size, same description, but the other handle fits securely WITHOUT glue, screws or nails AND had no visible damage to any part of the wood. This proves to me that there can be a big difference in the quality of very similar items. The other pole feels sturdy and I don't have qualms using it. I am storing this pole away for those times when I need a pole, but I need to be prepared to secure it because it just isn't right. Bottom line: Would I order again? No, someone thought that damaged handle was good enough to send out. Would I gift? No.

Ok product but shaft was bent. Still usable though.

It's slightly warped and finish is not very smooth.
