I'm very happy to have purchased this. It is full of basic information and makes a good reference book in the sewing room.

What's not to love about a handy little book by Merchant & Mills ... I love their designs ... the esthetic ... all of it ... if only they were not across the pond ... I think I would visit them often! A little bit like sitting next to them!

Terrific book for a beginner. I have other beginner books, but they seem to assume prior knowledge. This one is well-written, a pleasure to read, and assumes you are starting with no prior knowledge. I admit that I have some, but this fills in some gaps in it.

This slim volume would be a GREAT first book for anyone just learning how to sew. My mom has sent me several of her old books, and the info is already covered. Had I not already received those from her, this would have been the perfect place to start.

I have purchased a LOT of sewing books but when I was referred to this book I hit proverbial gold! I will never part with this one!

Very simple and easy to follow directions. The book is a great handbook that fits in my sewing basket. I love this little book.

I found this so helpful to refer back to for sewing basics. I haven’t read the whole book yet however if you need something to refer back to, this is a great start
