Zinus Shawn SmartBase Folding Guest Bed Frame 3ft Single (90 x 190 cm) – Space Saving with Underbed Storage, No Assembly – Black

I bought the double frame which is basically two single frames that clip together. It's brilliant. It's very sturdy, doesn't creak or squeak and I move around a lot when I sleep. Super easy to put together, took less than five minutes. It's perfect for me as it's a temporary solution until I move into my permanent home but I'll be using it in my Guest Bedroom as it's so comfortable. I purchased a mattress with it and a mattress topper and it's as comfortable as any Hotel bed I've slept in.

This arrived in a surprisingly small box for a double bed, and was only the size of a large suitcase and really light, so I was incredibly surprised that it was also simple to put together and actually really sturdy. The components were all nicely laid out in a blister pack and I had put it together alone in about 10 minutes. I had purchased this for my five year old because he is up most nights and I was fed up of sleeping on the floor, so most nights the bed houses myself and at least one child (often 2 or 3!). It is silent; not so much as a creak (even when they are jumping on it!), the is loads of storage space underneath, and as there is no fussy frame or headboard it is compact in his small bedroom. I haven’t yet disassembled the bed, as we are currently using it long term, but this looks to be a simple enough task, and that it would fold up really small. Would be an excellent choice for visitors, but is also proving to be fine for every day use too

I bought this bed frame last October when I needed a double bed in a hurry! It arrived compact and nicely packaged. Two single base parts that fold out and screw together. Very little to do! They also provided an adhesive tape for under the mattress but as the mattress was of a brand new deep quality, I decided not to use yet. It can move around getting on and off quickly, yes. But not awfully. For this one we have a bedside drawer unit either side and that helps. The tape would be a bonus. I am so impressed by this (and my youngest daughter has enjoyed) - that I am ordering another for her older sister today! We are decorating her room and so will probably use hers as a single with her existing single quality mattress until finished. The versatility is impressive. Just the fact that if either should decide they want a fancier base or move out, I can fold these down and store in a small space. Believe me that's essential for us! The other side I am impressed with is the height of the bed frame. It allows for a lot of storage underneath. With decorating, we have decided to take the idea of much more pricier storage beds and use this space for singular cube storage units that can hold a basket or be used for books or an ornament display. We're actually excited about this. So, would be recommend? Definitely!!

Having moved into a property with a wooden slats king size bed, I found it to be unsuitable for my needs. After months of worrying about crashing through the slats anytime I moved (which did happen a couple times!), I decided it was time to purchase something much more supportive. I was concerned about getting a new bed, simply because I assumed (wrongly) that I would need to spend hundreds of pounds to secure a genuinely sturdy and strong bed. Being 24 stone (although gradually losing weight), it was important to me that I didn’t just buy another basic wooden slat bed. After searching around for beds designed to take the weight of a man my size, I stumbled upon this one. £66 seemed to be unbelievable for a king size bed, although it is only made of metal and there isn’t too much too it. After reading many reviews about stuffiness, weights of the sleeper, and watching several YouTube videos about them, I decided to purchase the king size version of this bed. It took a little while to be dispatched, despite showing as in stock, but given Covid is going on I wasn’t too bothered. When it did arrive, I quickly went to work putting it together. Assembly is so easy! It’s a few wing nut screws, and about 20 minutes. I easily managed this on my own. The bed is very light and easy to move around. After building it, I popped the mattress on and gave it a try. Instantly I found it to be higher off the ground than my previous bed, which was an added bonus! Now I can get in and out of bed much easier. I laid down, and there was no noise, no issues or worries about falling through anything. It is an amazing bed! I’ve now slept on it for nearly a week and I’m so happy with my purchase. I obviously can’t yet comment on durability and life of the bed, but if anything changes I will update the review to reflect it. For now, though, I am extremely happy and expect this bed to last me many years.

Arrived 1 day early and sturdily made. Easy to assemble - folds away. Less than 10 weeks later a leg on one of the beds came off and tape is holding it together. Contacted Amazon and offered fill refund if return item but it’s too big and heavy for me to send back n no longer have packaging . So got 25% refund - not ideal but better than nothing

This bed should be advertised better, and then I think they would sell so many more ! When they say Zero Assembly, they are not joking ! Not only does this quick assembled bed, feel like a real bed ( No squeaks, sounds, at all when you’re in it and moving about at night. (Solid as a rock) It literally sets up and sets down in seconds. I promise you ! You could assemble this bed, and disassemble it, with your eyes closed in seconds. Absolutely amazing ! You will not be disappointed !

Easy assembly, it’s actually a great product if you want a high quality frame for a good price, assembled in about 5 minutes, there is actually no squeaking noise at all , I replaced my old frame because of the squeaky slats, also this frame is foldable, great if you ever need to get rid of it or move , amazing product for this price range.

Compacts and durable. Comfortable sleeping. Delivered to my door and no hassle of moving. Can be easily folded and unfolded when needed. Best for rented apartments or guest bedding solutions.

Le pense mucho en comprar esta base porque al ver la imagen y la forma supusé que sería una base muy frágil y complicada de armar. Sin embargo es todo lo contrario, no es pesada, se arma facilmente y es resistente, la recomiendo si eres una persona que cambias de casa constantemente, este producto es ideal. Asimismo te da la oportunidad de adaptarle una cabecera como un entrepié. El costo es accesible versus otras lugares donde vende este tipo de bases. La calidad es excelente. El unico detalle que le encuentro es el diseño dado a que pudiese ser solo una pieza en conjunto y no dos.

!!!!!!!Sept 2022 update: -Bought this frame July 2020 and I can honestly say it’s the one of the best purchases we’ve made. It’s still amazing. We’ve moved since buying it, and taking it apart/rebuilding it in the new place was super easy. I have no complaints other than you may want to add foam around the legs if you’re like me (I stub my toe a lot because I have terrible depth perception haha) but that’s not even a downside to the bed that’s just a me problem. A cut up foam noodle solved the issue fine! Also- my dog and cat spend a lot of time under it and it’s never once collapsed on them. Still holding up amazingly over two years later. Still no squeaks, not a sound. One thing I will recommend is getting a carpet for it or putting anti slip rubber things under the legs if you have hardwood, I just personally always recommend that anyways because I’m afraid of scratching the floor (we rent). Again not so much a product issue as a personal preference for precaution! TL;DR…. 2 years later it’s a great frame still. BUY IT! ((Original review:)) We bought this frame 6 months ago and it’s been amazing. I wanted to wait to review it properly. The frame is very tall so if you have a thick mattress you’ll find yourself up high like we do, but it doesn’t bother us. It worried me a bit at first because I was paranoid the frame would break, but after six months I can confidently say it’s very sturdy! Lots of space underneath for storage too, which is great if you live in a small space. The frame is silent, no squeaks or anything. Setup was relatively easy- less than 30 minutes. The frame comes with long sticky strips to adhere your mattress to the frame to prevent the mattress from slipping off. These work really well- almost too well, when we went to rotate our mattress recently it was really stuck on there! We ended up removing the tape and we found the mattress doesn’t really slip anyways, but the tape is really good for extra precautions if you’re worried. Overall this is a great frame for the price. Very sturdy, would recommend.

This is the first time I got this 14" full sized bed platform for my new full sized mattress because I wanted one without needing to purchase a box spring. I can say that after a couple days I am very pleased and satisfied with what I got. This bed platform was very easy to set up. I did it all by myself with no help. No wasting time trying to put the legs and slats together because this comes in practically two pieces. All I had to do was to follow the instructions and put the screws in for the legs and join the two metal platforms together. It is very stable on my carpet floor and is very sturdy now that I have my mattress and comforter on top. I'm only 5'0" and about 120 lbs so I don't see this platform possibly bending or collapsing from my regular use. Even if I use the bed with a heavier person on there I think it is still very stable. I have not heard any squeaking as I was rolling around and moving on my bed. I also like that they included some nonslip adhesive strips as it helped keep my bed skirt in place while I placed my new mattress on top. I didn't get a headboard so I'm not sure how easy it is to install any headboard outside of the brand. I am currently renting a room in a house and storage space has been pretty limited to me. I was able to fit a lot of things underneath the smartbase, including my shoes, styrofoam cooler, some clothes, bags, and clean containers and food jars. Pretty much any storage container under 13" in height can fit underneath the base. The diagonal bars that hold the legs in place and legs in the middle of the base are in the way, so if you have any wide and tall storage containers then you have to be a little careful. If you need to fit standard storage containers, I would recommend getting the taller smartbase such as the 16" or 18". For someone of my height with a 14" base plus 8” mattress and a 2" mattress topper, I did not have trouble getting on and off of my bed. My feet dangle about 2-3" off the ground now. I could imagine that any smartbase greater than 14" would give my bed a lot of height. Overall I am very happy that I got this base. You can probably tell that the black cat in one of my pictures is very pleased, too. I would argue that even if you don't need much bed storage space, this is a great bedroom essential to have because it is easy for one person to put together, dismantle, and move and you can easily add height to your bed without sacrificing its stability and sturdiness. And with a good bed skirt and comforter, you'll forget that you even have a metal bed platform!
