I have two outdoor outlets in the patio walls. I had been wanting to replace them for a few years now. I was tired of my procrastination and finally replaced both. Both were likely house originals, likely 40+ years old. One that wasn't working was crumbling from corrosion as I unscrewed it and pulling it out. These Leviton replacements are really nice. I generally do not like tamper resistant outlets because I have to fight with them to plug anything in, generally a big nuisance. Maybe that's me and not the outlet. However, these are tamper resistant and not a problem to use, even for me. That makes me happy. Both of my outlets are now cleaned up, replaced, are functional again, and have put my mind at ease.

Decent replacement for worn out 110 volt outlet. It has 2 push in inserts and 2 screw on terminals, so if you had 3 push ins on your old outlet you will have to use the screws. Solid enough and really grips the plug, At first it's somewhat hard to insert plugs but will ease over time. Old outlets with worn contacts are annoying and may even cause heat buildup or blown circuit breakers from poor electrical conduction. I change mine out hot using rubber gloves but don't recommend this at all. I'm just lazy and didn't want to flip the breaker first which you should always do. Your outlet will feed OTHER outlets unless it is dedicated as refrigerators and washing machines should be. Those are also 20 amp generally and this outlet is 15 amp for 14 gauge wire. Many older homes are wired with 20 amp 12 gauge throughout, or when new homeowners specify that they want only 20 amp runs. My home is mostly 15 amp 14 gauge with the exceptions for special areas. Black and white is marked with raised letters and the screws are colored as well.The price is right, of course older men will remember American made outlets for about a dollar many years ago.

Sturdy and well made. Easy to install and fits perfectly. Has both insert or screw tie connection, versatile for installation options. Has little plastic covers shielded all holes for outdoor applications. Replaced old unit and work as intended.

It's a good build. Easy to install. Just be sure to turn off the power before starting the installation process.

What is there to say about a receptacle? I guess I'll have to update my review in 10 years if it stood up to the elements. Quality seems decent, typical Leviton. The grey nicely matched the color of my outlet box. Make sure to install it on a GFCI protected circuit when installed outdoors as the receptacle itself is not a GFCI receptacle.
