Great Quality
Bought 2 yrs ago when I completely remodeled my kitchen/house. Really powerful fan, especially when set to high. No issues with smoke when cooking. Push buttons are excellent, easy to push, and the 3 different speeds are all you'll need. The stainless steel makes it super easy to clean and shiny too. The metal mesh filters are also excellent and easy removal for cleaning. Mines (shown in pics) are dirty because I don't do a good job of regularly cleaning them. I dump them in a bucket of CLR, leave overnight and hit it with the water hose. Mind you I do this probably once a year....maybe. Installation was also easy but watch a few youtube videos first and it does help having another person help hold it up still while you install. The under lights are also excellent. Bright. Have had no issues with it so far. Definitely recommend if you want quality.

Great Range Hood with Powerful Suction, Easy-to-Use Design, and Excellent Value
I’m really pleased with the Broan-NuTone BCSQ130SS range hood. It has strong suction, which effectively removes cooking odors, and the stainless steel finish looks great and is easy to clean with just a quick wipe-down. I especially like that the buttons are on the front of the hood instead of underneath, which means I don’t have to reach into the path of hot steam from the stove. The physical buttons are also a big plus for me—no need to deal with those sometimes-unresponsive touch buttons found on other models. Noise-wise, it’s very quiet on the low and medium settings, which is ideal for most cooking tasks. It does get a bit louder on the high setting, but that’s understandable given the power, and it’s nice to know it’s doing its job. The LED lights are also very bright with a warm yellowish hue, which adds a cozy atmosphere to the kitchen while giving good visibility over the stovetop. Best of all, this range hood offers excellent value for the price compared to other models I looked at. It’s a solid choice that combines style, ease of use, powerful performance, and affordability—highly recommend it!

Works well just a bit noisy
I purchased this to use as a ventless range hood. You will need to purchase carbon filters separately to use it as such. I’ve never installed a rand hood before and had no issue installing it in about 30 minutes. I purchased an electrical lead so I could use a wall plug to power the unit. The instruction also had good detail on how to install that cord. The unit is well made, the built in lights are bright and are great for a night light in the kitchen. The fan is strong but pretty loud. Setting one is fine, hardly a sound. Setting two makes itself known and setting 3 is LOUD. I usually only use setting three when I am cooking onion, garlic or other food with a strong odor. Setting 2 is just right for smoky oils, I really only use the first speed setting for circulating and filtering the air after cooking. It would have been nice if the unit came with a mounting kit, or at least a template for drilling the mounting holes. However, it’s not that heavy so someone could hold it in place when you dill the mounting holes. Overall, I am very happy with the unit, just wish there was a way to make it quieter.

Awesome for the Price, Big Fan Moves a LOT of Air
Installed easily. Works perfectly. The lights cover my entire stovetop and light up half my kitchen at night. For the price, it's a winner. In my opinion, it was well worth spending extra over cheaper models to get the bigger fan and full-coverage grease traps. I had to order a power cord separately. It wired up very easily. In all, I think it took me about ten minutes to wire up the power cord and pop out the proper cutout for my stove vent. The fan is so quiet that I can't hear it on the lowest two settings. On highest speed, it pulls in almost all the smoke and steam from my stove and oven. The unit is made of thin metal and feels flimsy. The grease traps feel flimsy, too. When the fan's running on high, the grease traps actually bend in toward the fan. However, in use, it's worked fine. The first unit I received was beat up so badly there was no way to salvage it. The fan was even crooked because of the damage. The second unit had a small ding, but once I installed it, the ding is less noticeable than the factory welds. Both units shipped with a round vent collar screwed to the top and if the box gets banged up in shipping, it's going to cave in the top of the hood. Very poor packaging choice on the manufacturer's end. The hood comes with four wood screws to install it. I made templates with magic marker and paper and taped them up over the stove. I used a hole saw to make an opening for the power cord, ran the screws halfway into the cabinet, and then slid the hood on. One of the screws had to be removed and re-set because I missed the template by an 1/8 inch or so. Otherwise, all I had to do was snug up the screws and putting on the grease traps. My old microwave's exhaust fan was rated at 400 CFM (when it worked) and I wanted similar performance from a hood. This hood pulls far more steam and smoke out of the room than my microwave ever did. I did keep the soft-close vent flap from my microwave instead of using the vent flap that comes with this unit. The soft close works perfectly. The fan has a slow start. All-in-all, I'm very happy. It's not perfect, and it really doesn't match anything else in my kitchen, but it looks very nice and the functionality is exactly what I needed at a price I can live with.

Attractive. Powerful. Easy to install. True ductless recirculating functionality.
Attractive, easy to install and powerful enough for almost every kitchen range. The LED lights are bright and completely illuminate the stove top. It's a true ductless range hood that vents from the top front...no need to cut any holes in over the range cabinets. Amazon carries the charcoal filters that clip to the top of the grease baffles. We tossed a $700 Maytag ductless one and replaced it with this one. The buttons on the Maytag failed after only four years and the replacement part is not available. This Broan was $225 and far better functionally .

Easy to install with nice bright lights
I was impressed with how easy this hood range was to install, making the setup process hassle-free. One of the standout features for me is the bright lighting—it really illuminates the cooking area well. The manual buttons are another plus, as I prefer their reliability over touch controls. While the hood offers three fan speeds, I was hoping for a bit more airflow based on the specs. It’s not bad by any means, just not as powerful as I expected. The noise level is comparable to my previous 20-year-old hood, so no major surprises there. In terms of maintenance, I found that my usual stainless steel cleaner didn’t work as well since this unit isn’t “fingerprint-proof.” However, an industrial polish did the trick, leaving it with a great shine. Overall, this is a solid hood range with great lighting, easy installation, and a classic button interface. If the airflow were a little stronger, it’d be nearly perfect!

Great hood for the price
This is the second hood that I have ordered this year to replace our microwave/hood. Our new range is taller and it was harder to use under the microwave/hood. The 1st hood I purchased was made by a brand I never heard of. On the first use, the right fan (it has two) made a loud noise and stopped working after a half minute. I returned that hood and ordered this hood. The ratings and price were similar to the 1st hood. This hood was a little harder to install because you have to purchase and install an electrical cord if you are going to use a regular electric outlet. It was not hard to install. Simply two wires and a ground wire to attach to the hood. This hood seems to be a little better quality than the first. It is the quietest hood that we have ever had (4 previous counting the defective one). The LED lights are very bright. Great lighting when using our range. I highly recommend this hood. I gave 4 stars because of the extra step to buy and install the cord.

Works as advertised
Works well. Lights are bright, like that the 1st power level is quiet. The 2nd power level has some sort of resonant ringing/whistling noise which is bothersome but it doesn't exist on the 3rd power level which I use most of the time for the smelly stuff and has good power. The stainless finish could be a bit higher quality, seems to smudge easily for some reason and doesn't polish nicely as other SS appliances I have. Don't be like me and try to remove/install the bulbs by hand - there is a suction tool included. Overall slightly more power than average and slightly quieter than average. Good value before you get into the pricier $500+ models.

Excellent
Really like this fan! It is so quiet and looks very sleek and stylish. The suction is very good especially for a gas stove. It took practically no time to install. Highly recommend this fan!

Works well for horizontal installation
We installed this yesterday - to replace a 25 year old kitchen exhaust fan that was also made by Broan. This fan is quite attractive in comparison - the front, top and sides are made of brushed aluminum suitable for viewing. The back needs to be mounted on a kitchen wall - not suitable for viewing. We mounted it with horizontal exhaust; this is difficult to find in products right now. The new fan has lower mass and is about 30% smaller depth. Measurements provided by manufacturer are accurate; this fan slotted perfectly under a cupboard exactly 30 inches wide. 4 stars because the metal filters are very delicate - but you can place them in the dishwasher to clean off the gunk and then very carefully return the wires back into the frame. Tedious and annoying - it was the same procedure on the old fan we replaced. Can’t comment on the charcoal filters since we’re not using them. You will need to purchase separately medium size marrettes for joining wire ends and whatever venting materials you plan to use - either a vent pipe and cap for vertical venting through the roof or a horizontal exterior flap system. The horizontal flap that comes with the fan is quite flimsy and will allow mice or small red squirrels access into your kitchen. That said, we just reused the old horizontal vent fap system we had in place. Installation is easier with 2 people; one holds up the fan, and the other feeds the wires through to the inside. If you’re strong, you could do this alone by pre-mounting the 4 screws - provided with the fan - lift up the fan and feed wires through, then slide and slot into place. Tighten the screws afterwards. Totally worth the money! The fan works very well and is reasonable quiet in use. The LED lights are bright and illuminate the work surface of the stove nicely. I’d recommend this product to a friend for home use.

Worth Every Penny
I’m not one to review a profile until I’ve used it for at least 6 months. I Installed this hood fan to get rid of the builder grade hood fan. Getting rid of the B52 Bomber Engine and replacing it with the sound of whooshing air has been one of the more satisfying projects I’ve completed this year. With this new fan, you can have normal conversations right next to the range while on low and sometimes forget you left it turned on when you’re done. You can make bacon and not smell the bacon cooking 5 ft away on a medium setting. Easy installation and easy to keep clean. Worth every penny.

Quiet fan
Love the look of this fan and that there are no digital displays. Runs quietly and seems to have good suction. Lights are bright.
