I am 63 yo and got this for several reasons. I am going on cruise where one port is literally just beach and fun, with a few shops. My friend wants to go the beach but because I do not have a steady gate, I needed a walking aid (and I love walking sticks (for me better stability than a cane) and I wanted to beach comb - who knows what treasure I might find. I got this today - OMG - it is sturdy, strong, love the grip, how it adjusts. My hands are arthritic and I was able to adjust. They even have marks on where to lengthen to look for different things you find when you beach comb. It is sooooo well made. I will update my review when I come back. At the same time, for those who need to clean the litter box but your physical abilities make it challenging to bend - definitely would work for that too. My favorite of all is how easy it turns into a walking stick and how sturdy it is. When you walk with an aid, you need to feel that stability. I am so happy with my choice and well worth the investment. You can't go wrong. I am going to see what other products this company manufacturers.

Love the Sand Dipper. I already have one and this one is for my husband so he doesn't take mine. Great for shelling.

I can hardly wait to get to the beach! This will certainly help with shells, interesting pebbles, and larger fossils. But I might need to add some fine mesh for smaller shark teeth. We'll see. But either way, it still saves my back. What a great idea for a senior citizen.

Used on beach combing trip for rocks. Useful. Good experience with it. Can be clunky - but also thin current design good for strength. Awkward fitting into suitcase, tripod bag, etc. Able to put some force in digging into sand to help dig something out. Sieve holes just right for smaller rock and allow tiny things/sand pass through. Can recommend product.

I’ve had my Sand Dipper since 2019 and have used it many times. It is still in great shape.

Excellent item that performed exactly as described! I took the Sand Dipper with me on my trip to Myrtle Beach. My goal was finding shark's teeth, and I was not disappointed! While I don't mind picking up beach finds, the Sand Dipper allowed me to save some back muscles! I would suggest you scoop up some sand under the teeth, as smaller teeth could fall through. Also, if you are where the tide is rolling in, get your finds to the shore, so you don't lose anything. The Sand Dipper is especially useful at night, since quick surf scooping is often necessary. As a side note, I would also feel comfortable using this for protection myself on my walks. While I love this item, I don't like having to post a picture of the Sand Dipper being used so I can get the walking attachment. I wish the company would include the walking attachment as this great item speaks for itself. I am including some pictures of the finds, and hopefully I will be able to receive the walking stick attachment.

I am an urban rockhound. I purchased my sanddipper last year, and it has proven itself indispensable over and over again. My main goal is to collect river agates in and around Portland Oregon. I use my sanddipper 3 to 4 days a week and its great. I use it so much that I have flat worn the bottom wires out after fifteen months of use. I contacted the company today about that little problem and they were kind enough to send me a new one. All I had to do was send them pics of the worn out part and some of the agates Ive collected. My sanddipper saves my back from having to do so much bending over, but its helpful to move smaller rocks around too. I keep mine in my car at all times. If you are a rock hound, or a beach comber, you cant go wrong with this product. From extending to five foot long, you can take the basket off easily and it becomes a wading staff. Buy one for your rockhound friends as a gift, they will love you for it.
