Well made heavy duty casters function exactly as described!
I constructed a heavy duty lathe workbench from Fir 4 x 4s and 2 x 4s plus two layers of 3/4” MDF for the top. I selected the Model 3000 Premium Workbench Casters primarily for their retractability, weight capacity of 660 lbs heavy duty construction and designed around 2.5” wide legs or greater. The Casters were easy to assemble but I would recommend assembling one first to understand the design. Included with the parts were two wrenches for tightening nuts & bolts however I also used a metric socket set as well. The Easy-Install Template is a snap to use and accurate. I used Frogtape to draw center lines and hold Template in place on the legs because the legs were finished. Since my 4 x 4 legs actually measured 3.5” sq. I was able to use the 4 corner holes. With Template in place I used a center punch to locate the holes precisely through the Template. The Wood Screws included with the Workbench Casters were a disappointment. The Phillips heads were easy to cam-out despite a new driver bit and clutch setting of the drill driver. I opted for a heavier #10 x 1.5” Drill Screw with 5/16” Hex Head and continued driving screws with nut driver bit. I found it much easier to attach the Leg Mounting Plate to the bench leg first, drive in the screws and then assemble the remaining caster parts because the 5/16”Hex Head required more space between the Pedal Bracket Assembly and Leg Mounting Plate. Your choice. The Movable Pedal of the Workbench Caster has a cam like bottom edge that exerts considerable force on the Wheel Mounting Plate when pushing down to elevate workbench. I noticed a metallic rubbing sound on one caster assembly. I applied a fine bead of white grease to the bottom edge of the Movable Pedal to lubricate that mating surface. The Model 3000 Premium Workbench Casters are well made, function exactly as designed and compliment my lathe bench. The completed workbench and lathe weigh in at 256 lbs well within the capacity of the casters. It’s possible for me to elevate the workbench and move it away from wall for cleaning.

Ease of installation and good quality product
Template very useful. Be sure to cut along the dotted line for correct installation. Everything true to description and works well. Easy to install and the screws provided were actually decent quality. Also the wheels roll smoothly.

One star off for poor instructions and hardware
Once installed, these SPACEKEEPER Workbench Casters work as expected and make it very easy to move around a shop table that I just finished out of scrap wood and tempered hardboard. Like so many “some assembly required” projects, it takes you forever to finish the first [only] set of casters. If you were to do an additional ten, it would take you the same amount of time as the first project, since you know the tricks to use, and the mistakes to avoid. Please note these are to be mounted to the sides of your bench legs and not underneath the bottoms of the legs, so plan your design accordingly. In the “down” (rolling around) position, you add only ¾” to your table height (see photos). So here are my complaints and recommendations if you buy this caster set: 1. The instructions are pretty much worthless. They basically say “put together and mount on table legs.” No helpful step by step details and the included drawings (on one little square of paper) don’t match the items in the kit. Mine was labeled “upgraded version” so maybe the drawings referred to the parts in the non-upgraded version. It was frustrating trying to follow the limited (three!) steps because you have to figure out the orientation of parts that don’t look like the ones in the drawing. 2. The kit is supposed to include 4 wrenches but instead there are two stamped metal pieces with various cutouts shaped like bolt heads and nuts. I tried using them and quickly switched to real tools – much easier. 3. The instructions indicate you should assemble the caster units entirely and then mount them with the provided screws. I did that, only to find that to mount the screws in the bottom part of the bracket, you have to take the caster unit apart again to gain access to the holes (see photo). Lesson learned: attach the step-down pedal (with the red tip) to the bracket and also assemble the caster stem in the lower part of the unit (“wheel mounting plate”), but don’t attach that to the black bracket yet. Instead, locate, pre-drill pilot holes, and screw the bracket to the leg first, then attach the caster stem and lower part of the unit to the bracket. Adjust tension on the bolt and nut that hold the step-down pedal until it takes a slight push to make it go down, but not so tight it won’t easily lift up again. 4. The template would be a good thing to use to help accurately place the bracket on your bench leg if only it was the right dimension – which it’s not. It is crucial to mount these things exactly right so your table sits flat/stable when the caster wheels are “up” and rolls freely when the caster wheels are down. The problem is that the template is 1/16” too short and 3/8” too narrow to match the footprint of the black brackets. So beware. I trimmed my template correctly with a razor knife to the right size. I also elected to mount the units inside the legs so as to avoid a stumbling hazard. You may want to do likewise (see photo). 5. The screws included are complete crap and should be discarded immediately. Don’t do as I did and have three of them cam out when pressure was applied (see photo). With a fourth one, the screw head snapped off completely, leaving about 2/3 of the screw shaft irretrievably buried in the wood. When I switched to my own supply of wafer head screws (see photo), I was able to mount the brackets without issue. Once installation was completed, I was able to dance the workbench around the shop with ease. Stepping down and toe-ing up the red-tipped pedals is a snap. All-in-all, I am very satisfied and for Chinese-made parts, these are not too bad. I have another table on which I used 360-degree casters with brakes, mounted underneath the bottoms of the legs, and they are a real pain to operate. These SPACEKEEPER Workbench Casters I would recommend if you are reasonably handy.

SpaceKeeper Workbench Casters Are A Great Product
These casters are well made, surprisingly heavy and work very well. I have a single car garage and have many tools, cabinets and workstations. I used these on a metal worktable and on a bench for my router. I can move them easily to wherever I need them and then lock them for a stable worktable while they are in use. Very stable. They are larger than most casters but gives you confidence that they hold the amount of weight they claim. The price is very reasonable too.

Ease of installation
I purchased these to add wheels to my Napoleon BBQ. The BBQ legs were steel so had to do some drilling. In addition I opted for my own machine screws for bracket mounting. Overall they work great and can now roll my BBQ from storage area to use area easily without picking up one end. The instructions were clear and install a bit challenging because of of how I used them.

Not Great, Just Okay
I wanted to like these but in the end I really don't. Installation was easy and they roll and swivel just fine. What I don't like is that they stick out really far and when you retract them the wheels will sometimes be turned in a direction where the bench will not drop all the way to the floor, maybe 1/8" off the floor. I have to turn the wheel(s) by hand or move the bench a bit to get the wheels to rotate so the bench will sit on the floor, then it's not exactly where I wanted it. When I have time, I'll try installing them a bit higher up the leg than the instructions say and see if that helps.

Great product at a great price - Very heavy duty
I purchased these retractable castors to add to a large workbench I was building for my garage. The casters didnt disappoint. They are extremely well made and cope very well with the weight of the bench. They lift the bench with ease and its a breeze to move it around the garage on the 3" wheels I cant recommend them highly enough and wouldnt hesitate to buy them again

Excellent value, but one slight flaw
I have these wheels under my workbench which is 200+kg. It so nice to be able to lift and move it on my own. The wheels were very easy to install and run smoothly. The only problem I have with them is that they stick out quite a lot, even when retracted. I often hit my toes against them when I walk around my bench. If there is space for the wheels (and your foot!) I recommend installing them on the inside of your bench.

great product fool proof install
very nice casters. easy to install. the metal pieces are shaped in a way that you can’t put the screws in wrong places. the instructions are a one pager which i really liked. the template worked well but i recommend leaving a bit extra space if your floor is relatively flat and even (perhaps 2 inches instead of the 1.5 inches the template is made for). at the recommended 1.5 inch mark your cabinet or workbench will float 1 inch above the floor so if you mount them at the 2 inches mark you can squeeze a bit more height. very smooth bearings. would buy again in the future.
