great little kit
A portasol tip for my gas iron was ยฃ20 so for ยฃ12 i thought this would be worth a shot Nice size iron with everything you need to do small repairs except heat shrink. The bag of tips all fit tight and the inner sleeve stops them screwing down onto the element. the black tip preinstalled works great for fine work. The stand does its job and stops you burning your table. Whilst in use the soldering iron handle stayed cool. the dial is very small to read but once you get the right temperature it doesn't matter. The supplied bag was falling apart but i didn't buy it for the bag so i don't care. this is great for small items like mp3 players or in my case a motorbike headset. It is not suitable for heavy gauge wiring like a 72v battery pack but its not designed for that. PROS: adjustable heat. comes with everything to do the job very capable for what its designed to do Its really cheap CONS: the bag is meh but who cares. the stand does not encase the iron so if your someone who doesn't pay much attention you might put it down with a kink in the cable causing it to move and when you go to pick it up grab the wrong end. But if you don't pay much attention you shouldn't be using a soldering iron

Decent product
A good starter iron. Im not a big fan of the cute little sponge tray that comes with it, but it does the trick.

Perfect kit for those occasional soldering jobs.
Works much better than my ancient Antex iron which has now been binned - this is a great little soldering iron. All the bits you need and a great little bag to store it all in. The stand is a bit basic but I've used it sometimes. The spare tips, tweezers are useful. The iron heats up pretty quickly and the fine point tip is the main one that use. Worth noting that whilst repairing a valve amp, I somehow shorted a live 240v wire which blew the fuse breaker on all my house sockets. Anyway, after resetting the breaker I attempted the job again (this time with the amp unplugged and capacitors grounded haha!) the soldering iron was fine and hadn't suffered from the 240v shock. I think this soldering kit is a real bargain, highly recommended.

Does what it is supposed to do
Worked great for about a year or so did the job well, i used it for wood burning until one day it packed in and blew the RCD trip switch in my art room. I would still buy it again although I have now bought a different brand. Would I recommend it. Most certainly

Cheap n' cheery
It's what I hoped. A simple cheap tool that works, I don't need anything fancy as was just wanting to solder some LEDs for a craft project and this did the job. Heats very quickly, lightweight, easy to use with a selection of nibs. It's fine for learning to solder or occasional use, you may want a better quality one for heavier use. But I'm happy, this is great for me,
