Had to file screw to fit 1998 Marlin model 60, but works awesome!
I bought this for a gun I picked up as a deal from my local pawn shop. A 1998 model year, Marlin model 60 semiautomatic .22lr rifle... but, it had NO front sight. I haggled. He argued, you're gonna put a scope on it anyway... touche. But, I mostly shoot old school, iron sights. If I'm going for a squirrels head at 50 yards, I'm scoped up. If I am plinking, even seriously, I am using my iron sights and my know how. Either way, I got the rifle and bought a scope and this front sight the same day. The scope came first, fit great, sighted in in 10 shots and is dead on at 50 yards. The next day this sight arrived. Looked nice. The screw was too long to tightly hold this to the muzzle of my marlin model 60. It is a 1998 year version, but that was my experience. Filed it down and wala, fits like a glove. I used loctite blue and installed it tightly. After curing, I shot. The sight is very visible and was dead on accurate as should be. I was even able to shoot when it was so dark, i could barely see the back sight! Just the front green dot disappearing between the two sides. Was still able to hit a squirrel target at 50 feet from the shoulder! It is VERY high visibility. I cant compare it to the original because mine had no front site, but I'd be glad to swap it out for this one I'm sure. I'd highly recommend. Just file down the screw if it doesnt fit at first. I bet it's made for the newest models. It will work on your slightly older marlin model 60 though, it did on mine! Looks pretty dang good too. Definitely not an eyesore on the gun. If you are looking to replace or just need a sight like me, you cant go wrong here.

Great fit
Mounted this fiber sight to the front of a Marlin 60. As others have noted, the screw is a tad long. Nothing a dremel won’t fix. Very pleased overall.

Sight is nice but as said the screw is to long
Sight is nice but as said the screw is to long. I just put it on with the factory screw from the factory sight and just cranked it down. Sticks up a little but does not block the sight, for now it will do till I figure how to shorten the screw without killing the threads

Helps old eyes.
I have found that old age has had effect on using iron sights. That front sight just isn't as easy to find as it used to be. Looking for some help without having to install a scope or red dot sight, I found this and put it on a Marlin Model 60 that I've had for quite sometime. Easy task and the supplied screw fit perfect. After a few minutes at the bench I was able to get the sight picture I had been missing. Hitting golf balls at 40 yards isn't nearly as hard as it was last week.

Fit the .22 Marlin 795 perfectly. Was very pleased to find a nice site like this on a discontinued rifle.
