Showed up quickly as advertised. Made sure that my model was listed on the product description before buying. I put the batteries in and pressed the on button. It recognized the box, asked me to point at the box. Programmed. Then asked for TV brand. Gave it that and it then found the model when I said was not sure. Works soooo much better than the remote that came with the DTV box. These buttons seem to glide to use where the old remote was just plain still all over( before some of the number buttons stopped working on the old remote). Price was better than DTV or other vendors here.

I have an older DirectTV box, not an HD one, and this works perfect for me and the price was better than I could get it around town at the 'big box' store. It was even cheaper than DirectTV said they would charge for a replacement as I had called them to make sure this would work with my box as there was a slight difference in model number from my old remote. Good buy!

This remote control does work on the DirecTv box and will control the volume on a Sony TV. But that is about it. The original remote could also control my DVD/VCR combo and the full menu on the TV; none of which can be done with this remote. It did not even control the volume on my Phillips TV - which btw is newer than the Sony. It is fine for the price and not worth sending back, but please remember that this is not a true replacement for the OEM remote. And it will not work with all TVs.

Ordered as replacement for original DirecTV remote. Works great and is easy to program. I gave a 4 star rating because one remote came with corroded batteries, no harm no foul.

Some of the buttons on my "Official" DirecTV remote stopped working, so I checked on Amazon for a new one. This one is unbelievably inexpensive, and comes with batteries. It works perfectly, so far, and I am completely satisfied. So much so that I have since ordered a second one, as another of our remotes has "died".

Our DVR is probably eight years old and the remotes were not quick to turn on the system anymore. We had two and both had to be waved around for them to work. These new ones that are programed with instructions from your TV screen are so much better. Quicker changes and no waving required. Very happy we got them.

I ordered 3 of these remotes. Price was reasonable and shipping was fast. The remotes arrived in separate bags that included the remote, batteries, and a user guide. On the back of each bag it was clearly stated "New". Bottom line 2 out of the 3 remotes were bad. The first remote had corroded terminals and therefore would not even power up. The second remote I tried would turn the TV on and off but was pretty much worthless beyond that because half of the buttons would not work. Thankfully the last remote worked fine - but 1 out of 3 is totally unacceptable!

Be warned, the remote I received was _not_ an RC65X (as described and displayed in the product photo) It looks much the same, it has the same buttons, but it does not have the same features; whatever this is isn't bidirectional, meaning you can't program it from the receiver like a real RC65X remote. Instead you have to do multi-finger button pressing and punch long numbers into it one by one, just like a regular cheap-o universal remote. There is no model number printed on the front of the unit in the area that DirecTV normally display it, and looking inside the battery compartment didn't reveal an obvious answer either. The black infrared transparent window on the front of the unit is more of a dark red than a real infrared-transparent filter. I'd suspect this of being a knockoff, but it's obviously just a non-factory refurbished unit; there was still sticker residue from the original owner's little square 'room' sticker on it. The casework, top and bottom, showed the usual signs of use, and whoever owned it evidently kept it in bright light as the white case plastic was significantly yellowed from ultraviolet bromine migration (sun damage). So, the price was right, the condition is acceptable, but the description is wrong, hence 2 stars.
