Great Wax
I really, really love this wax. I got the student starter kit around March and got this one to replace the wax I went through around August. So one can lasted me around 5 months, which is great. I use it for my legs and upper lip area and this wax works great on both. I really like the quality of this wax. I find it very easy to apply and I almost never have to go through the same area more than twice. With that being said, I've not used razors/creams etc. more than a few times in my entire life. I'm 26 and I've been getting waxed since I was 12/13. So having seen it done to me by professionals a billion times, I'm pretty familiar with the application. Since I had a great experience with this wax I thought sharing what I do could be helpful to some people/beginners out there. Consistency: The consistency is key. It should be like honey (I actually like it just a tiny bit thicker). Too thick = you'll get a bruise, too thin = you'll burn. I use the Gigi warmer that came with the student kit. When the can is full or 2/3 full, I warm it on high for 15 minutes. If it's half or less than half full, I heat it less (around 10 minutes). Which melts half of the wax and there is an unmelted lump of wax in the middle. The reason I do this is the top center always melts the latest and by then, the rest is too runny for my taste. Waiting everything to melt and turning the warmer off and waiting for a couple of minutes could also work, but I just don't have the patience. Depending on how long it takes you to wax, you might have to turn the warmer on/off a few times to keep the consistency. Exfoliate & Clean: Having your skin clean and dry is important. Lotions, water, sweat & oil etc prevents you from applying the wax evenly and even if you manage to apply, it doesn't really stick to your hair so it doesn't work. I also found that exfoliation beforehand helps a lot. It takes off the dead skin & exposes the hair better. Length of the hair: If you are a shaver, your hair gets thicker, so it becomes more noticeable. To get results from waxing, you might have to let go for a while (week / 2 weeks depending on how fast your hair grows) and try to live with it, so it gets long enough for the wax to actually pick it up. I had to shave a couple of times and in my case, my hair grows very slow so I had to wait 2 weeks after shaving. I generally wax every 3 - 4 weeks, because the hair in my legs are very thin and they aren't noticeable before week 5. Set-up: I've read a lot of reviews about wax being messy, and it is. With every soft wax that will be the case. What I do is to put a few paper towels/old newspapers between where I pick up the wax with the spatula/applicator and where I apply it, because sometimes accidents happen and it really is a hard task to remove it from surfaces. And I recommend using a collar with this wax. Test: The first thing I do with every new brand or type of wax is to test it in a small area. If you have sensitive skin or allergies I would definitely recommend doing this before anything else. A little bit of redness is normal, but stay away if it makes your skin itch, swell, bruise. I actually test the wax in a small area every time I wax to check the temperature and avoid burning myself. Powder (or don't): For the application, some people prefer lightly (key word being light) powder the area. I only use powder on my lips where I can control the amount of wax with my fingers. In my opinion, powder is only good with oily skin or on the areas you might be sweating. My skin is dry, so I don't really need powder on my legs. Also, overdoing the powder can make your job harder than it is, make it hard to apply the wax, create clumps and make the wax useless. Application: I usually get enough wax to lightly cover the tip (around 1 inch in length) of the applicator. I apply a thin and even layer of wax toward the direction of my hair. I cover a small area, & try to never to cover a larger area than my palm on one go. Applying the wax to a very large area is a huge mistake I've seen my friends do. Wax dries, by the time you get to it so it gets stuck on your body, but it doesn't stick to the strips and so you have a mess on your hands. The quality of the strips are also important. The strips I got with the kit really sucked, so I bought a roll of cloth strips. This way I can cut smaller pieces for my lip without wasting any material. Oh also, you have to pull the strips fast, and in the opposite direction of the hair growth. Pulling closer to your skin and pulling it really fast minimizes the pain. Pull your skin tight: In areas where your skin is soft and the surface isn't tight & flat (in my case soft and wobbly inner tighs), you have to pull the skin up and tighten the area before you pull the strips. Otherwise you might pull your skin with the strip, which is crazy painful and you'll definitely get a bruise. Trying to pull the strip slowly can also cause you to get a bruise. Get it off: I got a Wax-off with the student kit, but to be honest I only use it if my hands get sticky as I'm waxing. I like to use baby oil, which works way better than any cream that claims to remove wax from your body. I generally wait for an hour or two after I wax, get in the shower and use baby oil with warm water to take the remaining wax off.

Smells yummy, & works well
As an esthetician, I like to try some products on myself before committing to using them on my clients. I have used Gigi wax in the past & have liked them, but this one is a new one for me & sounded nice so I thought I'd give it a go! The product arrived on time & packaged alright. It didn't have a plastic or foil tin covering over the top & under the plastic lid to keep it from leaking out, so there was a little run over onto the edges of the lid. Not a huge deal, but it made me wonder whether or not it had been previously opened & repackaged with the plastic resealed around the outside. If it had somehow come loose during shipping, there would have been a wax mess, so just a caution there. The container was slightly damaged as you can see in the photos, but not bad enough that anything was leaking & made the product unusable so I didn't bother returning. Upon opening the tin, the edges were very sticky, as wax is, but as I said before there was no seal so it did get around the edges, but the stickiness kept the lid on. The smell was deliciously pleasant. If you love chocolate like I do, this is a great smelling wax! I put the wax collar on, & placed it in my warmer to try it out. Once heated up, the aromatic scent of warm chocolate filled the room. While it took awhile to melt, it worked alright. It was extremely sticky, & spread thickly, so I had to work quickly to get it evenly on my skin. The first few times was a learning experience. It builds up quickly on the muslin, & you don't get much use out of one strip as you would other waxes. However, I did find that since it was so tacky, I was able to use it on one area, then lay the strip over part of another waxed area that had some remaining hairs, spread it out & pull it again to pick them up. It does seep through the cloth to the back side, as well as spread out from under it after placing the cloth, so you have to be mindful of that when waxing (this could have also been the type of strips I was using), but the best bet would be going thin with the application. It was quite messy to use compared to other waxes, but it did the trick. I used it on my legs, under arms, & bikini line & it didn't leave me with any rash, redness or unusual swelling. This was my experience & my skin is tolerant to certain things & sensitive to others, but always remember to do a small patch test before waxing. I would recommend using this on legs, underarms & if you're doing an American or French bikini wax. It works good for coarse hair. I followed up with using a post epilation oil with Azulene & find that to be beneficial especially with sensitive skin.

No fancy tools required.
Fairly impressed with this soft wax. I was looking for an alternative to the Nads Sugar Wax which was reformulated and is garbage now. I don’t have any fancy tools, warmers, soothers, ect. I warmed it up gently in a small pan of water until it got to its creamy consistency and then applied as usual with a wide popsicle stick and waxing strips. I did notice that the wax was insanely sticky, which is why it worked so well to remove even some shorter hairs. I simply used some vitamin E oil to remove leftover wax and stickiness and to smooth out my underarm skin. Overall I really do like it and will most likely buy some more when I run out.

⚠️ WARNING ALERT - DO NOT USE ⚠️
⚠️ ⚠️ ⚠️ Product: GiGi Crème Wax for Hair Removal, Soft Wax for Sensitive Skin, Face & Body, Gentle Formula, 14 oz, 1 Pack First, this is not my first rodeo with soft wax. At home, I usually apply hard wax, but every time I go to a spa, they use soft wax because it’s faster for covering large areas like the legs. That being said, I want to tell you that maybe what you read in this review can be disturbing for you, so please read carefully. Yesterday I tried this GiGi Crème Wax for Hair Removal, Soft Wax for Sensitive Skin for the first time. As always, I read the instructions completely from the packaging and prepared the warmer by placing the new container and letting it heat up, then leaving it on low during use. I did a patch test to check the temperature, and it was ready to use. I started applying patch by patch on my leg and then using the strips, area by area, to remove the hair. The first thing I noticed was that the wax looked like cream. It seemed harmless, and since it was advertised for sensitive skin, I felt overconfident. But let me be clear: this is NOT a gentle formula, and it is definitely NOT for sensitive skin. I began applying it area by area, pressing the strip and removing the wax. In some areas, I noticed it didn’t come off with the first strip, so I placed another strip and repeated the process. I also noticed it wasn’t removing all the hairs well, and it left behind more wax residue than I had ever experienced before with other waxes. Up to this point, everything still seemed somewhat normal, apart from the normal pain during the removal of the strip. After finishing, I showered, and although I felt discomfort in my legs and bikini line, nothing raised a real alarm yet. It was around 4 PM when I finished, and by 7 PM, the pain was only getting worse. Still, I thought it was just irritation, but the redness and some peeling started showing. I went to bed around 11 PM, and that’s when I realized something was really wrong. I could not even rest my legs on the mattress because of the horrible pain and discomfort. I had to take ibuprofen and finally managed to sleep around 1 AM. This morning, when I woke up, that’s when I saw the terrible reaction this GiGi Crème Wax had caused. My legs were red and irritated, with purple patches and peeling skin, and the pain continued. For obvious reasons, I cannot post pictures of the bikini line area, but I can tell you the right side where I tried is bruised, irritated, and red. How is it possible that they market this product for sensitive skin? Are you serious? This is NOT a gentle formula, and it is NOT for sensitive skin. This product literally stripped off layers and layers of my skin, reaching the dermis and causing me this much pain. Not only do I NOT recommend this product, but I also warn users: if you really have sensitive skin, this is NOT for you. In my case, I do have very sensitive skin, and this WAX being misled as for the “for sensitive skin” claim, I bought it. Now I must schedule a dermatologist appointment to see what kind of creams they will prescribe to help me recover the skin I lost, plus the damage this might cause. I can already see the waves and texture changes in the skin on my legs. I am terrified to see the peeling skin and the damaged layers. In one area, it looks like the skin was eaten away. I am worried. This crème wax caused me a terrible skin reaction, pain, and overall discomfort. This is NOT a gentle formula and NOT for sensitive skin. I do not recommend it, and you should NOT use it. Believe me, you want to save yourself from this terrible experience with this product.

Great alternative to honey wax & works wonders
I bought GiGis no sting hair removal wax only, because it said it was for sensitive skin. I normally buy their standard honey wax. This no sting wax is just like honey wax. You need muslin strips to apply over the wax area and pull tug away. This can be a messy process so make sure your AC is blasting below 75F to help prevent the wax from sticking to skin making it harder to remove. I usually apply lotion to my skin prior to waxing my arms or whatever regions I’m targeting. It helps me personally make it less painful. Anyway- with honey wax I always broke out badly after. I’m pretty prone to having sensitive skin reactions especially when using the honey version and would develop histamine welts/bumps that would sometimes have puss. Gross right. I think I might of legitimately have a allergy to bees after using it. I would have to take Benadryl and use lavender lotion to help calm my freshly waxed arms down. The GiGi no sting wax I experienced some welts the first time use as it had been a year since I had last waxed my arms, but it was nothing like I experienced with honey wax. I had like 3 welts and they disappeared in 3 days. Where as honey wax it would be 2-3 weeks, & I would be embarrassed to show my arms. I waxed my arms again yesterday and although I had minimum hair growth from 3+ months ago when I last waxed with this product I did not break out. No welts or anything just minor redness that went away. I’ll be buying this from now on. My Only take away is when I bought this it was was shipped poorly by amazon. I had wax leaking from the lid Even though it was sealed and the can was dented. It was such a pain to clean up - I ended up using nail polish acetone in order to remove wax from the can.
