These are the best type of luggage tags to use for many reasons: 1) Your information is secure. To read anything other than your name the strap must be removed. On other tags anybody can read your tag and know you are not home. 2) The straps are virtually indestructible. They are stronger than many of the new wire loop type straps and much stronger than the buckle type. (I have had other straps break during flights.) 3) The back of the tag is large enough to clear tape on a Travel Insurance label. 4) Some of the colors are distinctive so people are less likely to take your luggage by mistake. After you fill out the required information (or print it on a printer), cover the information with clear packing tape. That will ensure the information is not lost if the tag gets wet. I have used these Travelon tags for many years for business and pleasure travel. I have never lost one due to strap breakage. I bought more because my old tags got scarred up by luggage handling machines. (They seem to be getting more nasty.) Now I have new and crisp looking tag holders!

Definitely buy these. You won’t regret it. Get a bright color like these pink ones. You’ll be surprised how quickly you’ll be able to spot your bag on the luggage turnstile even if it looks like 10 other bags. I had the awful experience of having someone else take my bag because it looked like theirs. And this was in London. It was such a mess! That’s why I now have bright red luggage with bright pink luggage tags. Seriously though, many people use colored tape or other methods to distinguish their bags. These luggage tags will do it without looking tacky. It’s just a pop of color that will help it stand out and give you that extra sense of security. They are sturdy and will last a long time. Definitely worth the money.

Overall a decent luggage tag. Easy to put on and decent size. I attached this to my luggage’s to Asia for 3 weeks and it survived. Also helps you identify your luggage while on the belt which is a plus. Only downside is you can only see your name through the clear plastic. If you want to see the additional info it would require you to take it off so you can slide the cover piece off.

Ordering these was a shot in the dark, I really didn't know what to expect but I like the privacy aspect while still being able to have contact information on the bag. As it turns out, I love these tags. There is no way one of these tags is going to just fall off. The hang strap is very tough plastic (synthetic) material and while I have no doubt some airline, somewhere, could break the hang strap it will take some work. Also, unless someone is very familiar with how the hang strap threads through the buckle they're not going to be able to open it in a very short time frame, so short of cutting it off to gain immediate access your more personal information is relatively secure. The tag itself is molded out of a tough material and the yellow ones I got are bright, which will be nice for spotting them on the luggage carousel. Several folks have mentioned how they open. Part of the reason for this is because the instructions and information on the packaging is NOT CORRECT. It shows a different style of luggage tag. To Open: 1) Remove the hang strap, and 2) Pivot the two parts (upper and lower) opposite each other. That's it. What looks like a button (or such) on the tag, at the end opposite the hang strap, is a plastic rivet; the upper and lower half of the tag pivot on the rivet. So, if you remove the hang strap and hold the tag at the hang strap end between your thumb and forefinger then fan them open (like you would fan several playing cards in your hand) the two halves separate very easily. DO NOT pry the two halves apart, you'll break the plastic rivet.

It does what it says, only your name shows. The plastic is durable and color is bright. It takes some effort to remove the tag. While the plastic is durable, there is a paper glued on the inside to write down your name and information. Once you write your name and information down, you can’t change it unless you use a white out. I dock a star off because it would be nice if they provide a few extra stickers. I got my tags at deep discount and it works for the purpose. If I have to pay full price, this would not be my first choice.

Wow these tags are actually solid plastic. Amazing quality. Like something that woule come with good luggage. I believe they are water resistant too. Would recommend.
