L’Oreal Paris Makeup Voluminous Original Volume Building Waterproof Mascara

Nice light coverage you can keep building on- did not clump!

This is my favorite drugstore mascara. I have stubbornly straight, average length, and sparse lashes, so I usually take anything and everything that works. I wear makeup almost every day, so I've really narrowed down what's worth my money. The only other mascara that I would rank above this one is the Diorshow Waterproof Mascara, HOWEVER I'm not willing to drop $25+ 3 times a year (4 months is the average lifespan of my mascaras) for tubes of black stuff. For under $10, this tube is wonderful. I must always use a drier waterproof formula to hold any bit of curl that I put on my lashes. This one does it perfectly for me. Everyone to whom I've recommended this mascara now swears by it, too! After I curl my lashes, I put a few coats of this mascara and it holds well, dries fairly quickly, and volumizes my lashes. Initially, the mascara is a bit more tacky and you'll need to scrape some mascara goo (I don't know the exact name of it) off before using it. It's the same toward the end, too, the goo tends to clump on the wand because there's not much left, so you'll need to do a bit of scraping. After every few uses, I scrape off the entire wand to prevent the goo from drying and flaking... if you're having flaky clumps this is the reason!!! Clean that crap up and you'll be good to go. One thing I would recommend is using an oil-based makeup remover to take off this makeup. DO NOT USE WIPES. DO NOT USE YOUR TWO-IN-ONE MAKEUP REMOVER/CLEANSER. You will damage your eye skin, lashes, and still have makeup leftover. Please do yourself a favor and get a decent makeup remover if you're going to use this or else don't blame the mascara for doing exactly what it's supposed to do... staying on your lashes. If you have sad stubborn lashes like mine, get this mascara!

I normally use Lancome mascara and wanted to see if L’Oreal’s could hold up as well. It was fine, just not the same quality as Lancome. The brush was thick and held the mascara when applying, I had thought I purchased the waterproof but I guess I didn’t, so by the end of the day it had worn off my lashes and didn’t last all day. It did smear underneath my eyes by the end of the day. I wouldn’t purchase again just not for me.

I’ve been using L'Oréal Waterproof Mascara for years, and it’s still my go-to! It provides incredible volume and length, instantly enhancing my lashes. The waterproof formula truly stays put all day, even through rain or tears, without smudging or flaking. It’s easy to apply, separates lashes beautifully, and washes off easily at the end of the day. I love that I have it on auto-ship — I never run out! Reliable, durable, and always high quality — a staple in my makeup routine. Highly recommend!

Works as well as the more expensive mascaras I have purchased.

Have purchased this mascara a few times. I find it works well for a while, but it definitely starts to clump after awhile. In fact, I remove the brush from the container over the sink because all sorts of flakes/clumps come out. There are clumps all over the brush as well. It's a mess. I really loved this item at the start of use, but sadly, it deteriorates quickly. Going to try another brand.

I used to buy more expensive mascara. But as prices went up, I switched. Beware that this mascara is fairly thin and wet when you first get it, but it will thicken up. I think it's pretty dark, stays on well, and doesn't fall off in clumps like others I've had. I love it.

Before I say anything about this product, I want to make it known that there are tons of l'oreal products that I DO love. I have used their boxed hair dyes for over a decade; I also used their telescopic mascara for a long time - both the washable and the waterproof - and will still use them from time to time when I'm going for a natural look; I have used their Elvive line of shampoos EXCLUSIVELY since 2019; I'm using their "Volume Filler" shampoo with Filloxane right now, and love it, etc, etc, etc. I DO like L'oreal products. But this mascara... ...should be taken off the market. It is just terrible. I'm surprised that I used it for so long, and that was likely due to the fact that I was working a difficult job where I didn't have time to notice the panda eyes during my shifts. I didn't realize how bad it was until I was moved to another unit. THEN, I had time to check myself out in the mirror during bathroom breaks, and notice all of the flakes and smudges. At first, I thought: "No big deal. I'll just wipe it away with a Q-tip and some saline...but it became a routine until I got tired of it and tossed the mascara that was opened and gave the other one away (after warning the person about how terrible it was). What's worse is that it dried out my under eye area, and caused five lines I didn't have before! This was around the same time that I found and tried their washable Telescopic (and I absolutely RECOMMEND that product if you're in a budget; it does have a tricky applicator, but it's the applicator that is the reason to buy it, because you can get the whole length of your lashes; plus, I'm pretty sure it's a tubing formula, which makes it super easy to remove, but doesn't budge until you remove it). But I digress. If you're on the fence, I would avoid this mascara. Even if you're on a budget, Essence and E.L.F. make ones that are at the same price point. Save your time, your money, and your skin, and get something else.

This is very nice. No clumping. My go to mascara.

Es una mascara de pestañas a prueba de agua para las que no les aguanta el rizo. Es super negra y da mucho volumen aunque no mucho largo. Pareciera que tienes más pestañas de las que en realidad tienes. No la venden en México en su versión extra negra carbón black. Así que gracias Amazon!
