A simple, well constructed device that does the job perfectly and is easy to clean. I empty in half a bag of crispy salad and after a few presses I have an evenly chopped salad base, ready to stir in whatever I fancy for an easy-to-eat healthy meal.

The chopper arrived fairly quickly and safely in the post in a good strong box. I bought this item a few months ago and it was a while before I used it. It was an unexpected nice surprise when I first did use this nifty machine, So from a visual and practical view point, it is bigger than you think but is compact enough to store away easily. It seems well made and it is easy to clean. It has two simple blades options which are all it needs. It took a few goes to get the hang of the downward pressure to needed to use, once you do, its easy peasy !!. Onions and celery were no trouble, the harder vegetables like carrots need to chopped smaller but it chops stuff in seconds. I would imagine kids may find this fun to use helping out (with supervision). It does chop veg pretty small. The surprising thing is the bowl capacity, it is large so doesn’t get filled too quickly. I’ve used this a few times as it saves getting the electric one of the cupboard. All in all a safe product for all to use and easily washed. So a useful item to own. Thanks

This item has been sitting on the shelf for a few weeks waiting for a suitable chore to come along. My daughter is under the weather, and all she fancied eating was Angel Delight. So, I decided to see how quickly the Express Food Chopper mixing paddle would whip it up - the answer is extremely quickly, with very little effort, and no mess. Washing up the pieces after took no time at all either. All the parts are of very high quality, and based on other Briefton items we own, will easily stand the test of time. It will be interesting to see how well the driver handle that spins the paddle (or blade) lasts, but it certainly looks and feels substantial, and I have no reason to suspect that it will break after just a few uses. One warning note - the blade mentioned above is of extremely high quality, and consists of 3 angled blades set at different heights on a central spindle. These blades are EXTREMELY SHARP so please handle with care - you have been warned. I tried chopping an apple and a potato before washing up after making the Angel Delight, and it made very short work of them. All in all, a very good item - well done Brieftons.

I bought this to chop onions (as I have a really bad allergy response to them) and I wanted to chop onions really finely. It was easy to put together and I first used it this evening; it was brilliant. No more sore and painful eyes and the onions were chopped really finely with only 3 plunges of the chopping blades. The blades are really sharp so care is needed with handling, but a protective cover for them is included which, if used properly, doesn't cause a problem, and they are very effective. I'm very pleased with this reasonably priced kitchen accessory and it's a relief not to suffer any more!

Does a great job and saves me a lot of time when preparing my birds veggies, you just have to make sure you don’t put in too big chunks as the blade gets stuck especially on Brussels sprouts. Turned what took an hour job into 10 minutes, I’d recommend this product.

Good not excellent product

Works really well and easy to set up. I bought it to chop veg quickly for my birds and it was really good. The carrot needed chopping bit smaller then the other veg but other then that 9/10

I bought this to replace a traditional "push down" small veg /herb chopper. I was a bit concerned when it arrived, as the operation was completely different but - Wow! Just push down the top, and the rotary blade (similar to the blade in an electric food processor) powers through the contents. So far I have chopped various vegetables, blitzed tomatoes for Salsa, and breadcrumbs for bread sauce. It is really quick and easy to use, and easy to rinse clean too.

I read all the reviews for similar items and purchased this item. I am so happy that I did, it is perfect. It even chops a few garlic pieces into very small bits...now that is really telling you something! Chops anything you put into it perfectly and cleans in a flash. Thx, I love it.

A little expensive but good performance overall

i impulse bought the smaller version. worked great, but had to chop ingredients (for guacamole) one at a time. so it was so easy, but this larger version - bigger but not huge - sounded like a better fit. and yeah it's awesome. for a bowl of guac just chop up the ingredients into chunks, all of them in the bowl with seasonings. a few quick pumps and voila. i add a little lime juice after and pump a few more times to blend in. perfect, easy. washup - can put everything but the pump in the dishwasher, but it's so easy to just do a quick rinse i just hand wash. there's a mixer attachment too, tho i just use a spoon. and the pump handle snaps down to save a little space (doesn't go all the way into the bowl, but cuts down the height by about 1/3. i'm making guac a lot more often now already, it's just so much easier. be great for salsas and dips too.

If you want a no‑fuss chopper that actually delivers, this one’s a standout.

Let me say right up front, that for a typical household, this would be exceptional. Unfortunately, I bought this for other staff to use with kitchen prep in a small 6 bed assisted living home where I work and "someone" dropped the plunger on the floor and it now rattles and will not lock in the down position for convenient storage. It still functions just fine though - but takes more space in the cupboard. On the plus side, the blade is incredibly sharp!! (As evidenced by an increased use in band-aids since staff have been using it.) It chops boiled eggs, fresh or canned mushrooms, bell peppers, onions, pickles and a myriad of fruits and vegetables. The cleanup is quick, thanks to the thoughtful design of the removable blade and the plunger that never has to touch the cleaning water (just make sure not to drop it on the floor...). The chopping motion is smooth and simple. I've used a Pampered Chef chopper for many years and it would start hurting the palm of my hand after only a few slaps. No fatigue with this fella! And once again, it is so easy to clean. No worries about ingredients from last month's meatloaf hanging around to combine with today's egg salad. Do I love this? Yes, I certainly do. Am I going to buy one for myself to use exclusively in my own kitchen? You bet! This would be a great gift for someone starting out on their own, getting married, or who simply does a lot of chopping. **UPDATED REVIEW** I raised my rating from 4 stars to 5 today. I ordered and received a new unit today for my own personal use and was surprised to see that I've been using the original one since November and when I compared the bowl and blade to the new one they are identical! The bowl has stayed sturdy and unstained despite daily use with an assortment of foods that could stain or cause damage. The blade? That thing stays super sharp (deadly, as a matter of fact) and I used the original one last night to chop salted peanuts for hot fudge sundaes and it did so with such little effort. I'm absolutely impressed with this product!
