I have really heavy periods with lots of clotting. Wondering if this would work for me?

I have ridiculously heavy periods with lots of clotting. I used to use 2 super plus tampons at a time, plus a pad, and would bleed through in an hour. The cup works great for me. I often add a pad as backup on my heaviest days, but still, the cup holds more than 2 super plus tampons. On my heaviest days, I can wear a Softcup about 2 - 2 1/2 hours before leaking. Twice as long (or more) than tampons.

It's not exactly plastic. According to the FAQ page of the Softcup website, "Softcup is made of inert, hypoallergenic, non absorbent, non-irritating polymeric material that has been used safely for more than 20 years in health care products such as catheters and baby bottle nipples." Is this product Latex-free? I'm very allergic to latex

Softcup is not made with latex. :)

Can this push on your bladder? It seemed much more comfortable after going to the bathroom.

Softcup should not create pressure on your bladder. You may just need to insert it a little differently. Next time you go to insert it, make sure you are pushing the edge that goes in first DOWN toward the floor so that it sits at an angle and fully covers the cervix. Then make sure the front edge (that goes in last!) is tucked above your pubic bone and pushed past it as far as it can go. You can also experiment with different positions to find what works and is most comfortable for you - many women prefer to insert Softcup with one foot on the tub.
