In my work as a wildlife biologist, I've trapped many many rats with snap traps, but never gophers. One was threatening my garden, so I tried this and it worked within an hour of me setting it. I had to watch a YouTube video to understand how to set it properly, but once I figured it out and set it, the results were near immediate and amazing. One caveat - the gopher was very securely trapped, but not dead when I pulled the trap out of the hole. I had to finish the job with a shovel, which could be difficult for some. I hated killing the gopher, but I have a huge, beautiful vegetable garden that I wanted to protect more! I highly recommend this extremely effective product.

Product only came with one trap not 3 as in picture. No where in written info does it tell you number. You need really strong hands to set it.

I bought 3 different style gopher traps, and this is the only one that has caught any gophers. The long neck reaches into the exit hole keeping the spring body out of sight, before they realize and trigger the trap. The large trap size worked perfect for the size holes my gophers create. The spring wire of the smaller size trap flexed and slightly bent after a few uses, causing it to no longer work. But the larger trap spring wire seems stronger and has held up so far.

False advertising! Picture show (3) gopher trap but only (1) in the box.

Description is wrong. You only get one trap. The trap works great.

Turns out that I didn't have gophers. The trap was useless for the rodents that I have. That said, the trap is very well made with thick gage metal and wire. The trap springs with little force. I believe that it would work just fine.

This is an update: I finally trapped and killed some “smart” gophers that had previously buried this trap. I had to dig and find the main tunnel; baited the trap with a piece of carrot; set the trigger to extra-sensitive. Previous review: The metal plate makes the trap too bulky. I had to dig a bigger hole to accommodate the trap. Gopher ended up burying the trap.

Got this trap and opened it, found it's missing the pin to set the trap. I have no idea if this trap works, I can't even set it. Also, the product listing photo shows 3 traps, which seems willfully misleading when there's only one trap included.
