The TRTL has upgraded!
Long review, tl;dr at the bottom. I'm an original TRTL owner who has used this item on many transpacific flights. I purchased the new TRTL Pillow Plus and I already feel and see the new improvements are great upgrades! First big improvement, height adjustment for different length necks. I purchased this updated model because I had the same issues as others users with the original design, my neck would be sore after extended periods of rest. I'm 5' 10" and maybe it's because I've got a big head that I need more support! I have noticed greatly improved support with the adjustable height feature. Much more comfortable rest because the support gets right under my chin! The toggle mechanism to adjust the height is very easy to use, a clever design! Second improvement, addition of soft foam padding where the head and chin rest against the support. Feels like I'm using an normal neck pillow. The padding is a great little upgrade. Third improvement, the neck wrap is a little longer and wider than the original. The breathable mesh sewn into the neck wrap is slightly stretchable and does feel a little cooler to wear. A little bonus, the water resistant bag included with the pillow is of better quality than I expected. The bag is made of a heavier nylon and does not feel like a thin cheap shoe bag. It also has a sewn in loop and a removable carabiner so you can hook it onto a loop on your bag. The bag was an unexpected and nice accessory! tl;dr Adjustable neck height is a big improvement! Foam padding is a nice addition. Longer and wider neck wrap is great. The carry bag for the pillow is of a higher quality than expected. Overall, very happy with the improved TRTL Plus!

Very good, but not the panacea for me.
I wanted to love this. It was very helpful on my recent long haul overseas, but wasn’t perfect - even with adjustments. It does keep you head mostly erect/semi-erect and is soft. Nice bag you can clip on to your carry-on. Overall did work much better for me than the standard neck pillows sold everywhere.

Looks funny but feels great!
I can never sleep on airplanes. But with this bad boy I slept for most of the flight on two long international flights. So comfortable and easy to use.

HONEST review for heavier set people. Must know before purchasing!
Completely HONEST review. I am a 5’4 female heavier set and my husband is 6’2 heavier set. This did NOT work for either of us and we tried this on the airplane for 8 hours trying to figure out a way to get comfortable. Completely unachievable and caused extreme neck pain afterwards for the both of us!! Cons: - Worse than traditional neck pillow if you have headphones on. In order to be comfortable with this Turtle neck pillow, you cannot have headphones on, you will find yourself constantly adjusting to TRY to get comfortable, which more than likely will NOT happen - Not made for short fat necks even when adjusted into the lowest setting (I am 5’4 and my husband is 6’2 this did NOT work for either of our fat necks!!) - This is essentially a Velcro version of a neck brace that is really expensive - I do NOT recommend this at all, unless you plan to use this without headphones on and your neck is built specifically for this type of “neck pillow”, although it is more of a “neck brace” that will actually give you intense neck pain after usage, try it and you will quickly regret it. - Price $$$— Super expensive for something non functional I wish I had known these before purchasing!! Because trying it out in the house is drastically different than trying it on an actual airplane, trust me on that. Pros: - I guess you can say it is “more cooling” than traditional neck pillows because it’s just fabric rather than a cushion bracing your entire neck (this braces only ONE side of the neck) - Because it is essentially a neck brace wrapped with fabric, your head will be braced but let me tell you, you’ll have extreme neck pain after usage because your head “rests” on ONE side, and it is completely uncomfortable Last but not least, you more than likely need to have an average sized MALE neck or LONG NECK. If you are heavier set or have a short neck do not purchase this and waste your money!! Most importantly, do NOT cause yourself unnecessary neck pain and wallet pain!!

Too expensive for poor stitch quality
It provides head and neck support as it claims, but the seams are very uneven and sloppy. For a pillow that is almost $100, I would expect better quality control. For this reason I will be returning. But if you only care about functionality, then it might be a good product for you. The pictures show it on the highest and lowest settings. The padding is sewn into the fabric so there is no way to adjust it to make it look more even. On a positive note, their customer service is great!

No neck pain after two 6-8 hour flights in coach!
Looks weird as heck when wearing it, but it is the best travel ‘pillow’ I have ever tried! I have neck pain and just used it for two 6-8 hour flights and my neck and back feel great! It holds your head up straight without any stress or tension. It is very comfortable. I highly recommend this. Buy it, try it at home before a trip to compare against a regular neck pillow and you will see the difference immediately.

Great upgrade and even better customer service!!
I waited for the new Trtle plus model specifically for the cooling benefits since I had heard about how hot the first model got while wearing. Coming from someone who gets hot quite easily, I needed a neck pillow that supported without the extra heat. I purchased a competitor brand neck pillow that is somewhat shaped like the traditional "u" but it had straps to attach to the seat and magnetic clips that clipped closed to provide support. Although the competitor brand was very supportive, it only took a few minutes for me to get uncomfortably hot. Add to that the fact that my sound blocking headphones did not sit right on my head because of the bulkiness of the pillow. About a week after trying the competitor pillow, the new Trtl plus arrived just in time for my 19+ hour flight (14 on first leg, 5+ on second leg). That was a true test! The first thing I liked about the Trtle Plus pillow was how small it folds up to. I attached it to my luggage by clipping it from the included travel bag. The bag was a pretty turquoise color which stood out among the ugly random neck pillows around me. The second thing I liked was the fact that it was pretty easy to adjust for my neck length. It was also super easy to attach using the rubberized ends that attached when pinned around the neck. I tried it on the right side, left side and even with the pillow under my chin. If I was awake and reading, or watching a show, I found it comfortable underneath my chin. I actually forgot I had it on and went to the restroom on the plane with it around my neck. Now, I won't say I didn't get a little warm, but definitely not as hot as with the competitor pillow. Because it wasn't bulky, it felt lightweight. The added bonus was that my noise cancelling headphones fit better with the Trtle plus pillow since it wasn't so bulky to push it off my ears. I commend the manufacturers for listening to the user's complaints about the extra heat and taking steps to make the material more cooling. I will likely reach for this pillow on future plane trips ESPECIALLY any overseas flights and highly recommend the Trtle Plus neck pillow. ** Excellent Customer Service Unfortunately the travel bag that was included with the pillow did not fare well on my trip since the carribeaner attachment (that clips the bag to luggage) broke. I contacted the seller and sent pictures explaining that I could no longer use the bag without the clip. I received a response in a day and after sending pictures was assured I would get a replacement bag. I got the replacement bag today (just a few days after contacting them) so I am very impressed with their customer service. If anything happens in the future, I know I can reach out and get assistance. Again, I highly recommend the product and the company.

Didn't work for what I wanted but made a decent backrest
I bought this pillow based on great reviews and hoped it would help make my 13 hour flight a little more bearable. Ultimately it did not deliver in the way it was intended (comfortable side sleeping without falling over), but it is versatile and supportive enough that I did get use out of it a couple times. I couldn't get it to stay on my shoulder on the side, it choked me from the front or mashed my chin up uncomfortably, and my seat never leaned back far enough to really enjoy using it as a neck rest. But I did use it a couple times to hold the arch in my back and across my arms on top of the tray table. It's a well-made product - very soft, and I like the travel case HOWEVER the velcro on the travel bag is so freaking aggressive. It takes three of four tugs to open the bag. I'm not sure what they were going for there other than making everyone around you look at you to see if you need help or are being super annoying for a reason by making that loud velcro tearing sound so many times.
