Organic Rice Protein wih Pleasant Vanilla Flavor
I've been using Nutribiotic Organic Rice Protein for decades. I much prefer the Vanilla flavor and like to buy it in the large more economical 3lb container, so am happy it's available on Amazon through a Marketplace Seller at a decent price. I've bought the Plain variety by mistake, and although you can add vanilla, fruit or other flavoring to it, it retains a slightly odd flavor. I therefore strongly recommend purchasing the Vanilla variety which provides the easy option of using it just as it is. My standard morning shake is a heaping 2 TBS scoop of the protein + 2 TBS of a fiber supplement (a ground psyllium and apple fiber mix) + 1 TBS of organic ground flax seed with a little liquid stevia and a little organic raw blue agave syrup to sweeten mixed with 2 cups of water using an immersion blender in a wide-mouth plastic container that came with my first blender. (To avoid spills, blend initially with just part of the water, then add the rest when just a brief blend is required.) The Agave syrup seems to add a slight almost chocolate flavor. I occasionally add frozen mango pieces, but mostly don't. It definitely provides a good protein- and fiber-rich start to the day.

best vegan protein i've ever had
i have many food allergies so protein supplements were impossible for me for the longest time. whey, albumin, soy, casein...and the veggie based ones were nasty IMO (hemp, chia and pea). Finally I stumbled upon this vanilla rice protein and i heard the angels sing!!! I think it blends incredibly well for a vegan protein. ( keep in mind they are all chalky and this one is the least, but still has some chalk to it) . I mix it in hot water with a little blackstrap molasses or raw honey in the winter, i scoop it into my hot oatmeal with honey every morning and i really look forward to breakfast now. I do find a significant difference in taste between the organic and the regular. I enjoy the organic vanilla better, it seems much smoother and has a better taste. I am very very happy with this product and I order it every month on amazon. I am going to try the chocolate this time and see how it is. Can't wait! It really is a wonderful product for someone with food allergies like me, I wish it existed years ago. :)

Excellent single source protein powder!
I was, and still am, having a challenging time with GI issues. For a while, I could eat little more than white rice and drink peppermint tea - both organic. I stabilized and began working with a dietician/nutritionist. We went through all of my supplements, foods - basically, anything that I consumed. I missed my morning smoothie and reacted to any of the protein powders I had used in the past. They were all organic, non GMO, high quality but...they all had numerous ingredients. I was, and still am, doing my version of a low FODMAP diet. I found this rice protein powder near the end of of the list of one of the low FODMAP counselors. I tried it and tolerate it well. At first, I only mixed it with plain organic rice milk. I'm now able to tolerate coconut milk so I alternate between it and rice milk. Both are organic and unsweetened. I've graduated to where I can add about 1/2 cup of low glycemic be fruit, usually frozen berries. This product saved the day for me! I've almost always had good results with NUTRIBIOTIC products. This is another great one.

Organic Vanilla Rice Protein Differs in Taste and Texture From Non-Organic Product
I have used the non-organic Nutribiotic Rice Protein for over a decade without issue. At one time, it cost $23 for 3lbs. although the price has increased significantly over time. I mention the price because the non-organic product had finally reached $40, identical in price to the organic formula, so I figured I'd give the organic version a go. BIG MISTAKE. The organic version has the texture of micro wheat bran flakes which turns to a sludge when mixed with fruit, juice, and yogurt. It tastes acidic almost like what I imagine paint thinner would taste like if it were added to a drink. Frankly, the flavor was so vile, that I couldn't even drink a second sip of the organically-infused protein shake. The vanilla flavor was lost in the mix. It was awful on a level that was pretty tough to match. Worse than what I would imagine carob might be to a Swiss dark chocolate connoisseur. If I could have given negative stars to the organic formulation, I would have done so. I seldom take the time to write a product review, but this situation was so extreme, it felt almost negligent not to write one. On the upside, I received a replenished supply of the old tried and true non-organic version and consumed it this morning with a palpable relief. With any luck, Nutribiotic will learn from its organic formulation error and fix the problem promptly.

A cleaner protein powder
I have been using this product for about two years now. After doing a lot of research, I found this to be the best protein powder for me due to it's short ingredient list with stuff I recognize (I like products that are organic and have no unnecessary additives) and containing zero dairy. While I love this powder, I will say that if you are looking for a protein powder to drink right from the container, this might not be the best choice. The reason? It does not have much flavor on its own. It can also be a little chalky especially if you do not use milk (I personally use almond milk). I do not recommend using water with this powder as it really brings the flavor to a whole other level of gross (it works 100000x better with milk). To help this powder out, I add a tablespoon of cacao powder and a teaspoon of honey to my 12oz drink (I also like to add chia seeds). After those extra touches, it tastes great to me. You could of course also add this to your smoothies if you are into that sort of thing. So despite the flavor not being all that great on its own and needing a little help (which is not too much trouble for me to fix), this powder has a decent amount of protein content and is perfect for anyone wanting to avoid dairy and consume a more natural protein powder.

Makes a great shake
Great for shakes that give me tons of energy. Rice protein is easily digestible and not prone to gassiness as those made with pea protein. I never feel stuffed and it lasts for hours. I add fresh strawberries and honey with almond milk. I will order this one again.

Love this stuff!
I love this stuff! I work 12 hour overnight shifts, and I make a smoothie for "breakfast" to drink on my way to work. This adds a substantial protein punch and adds a nice vanilla flavor. My smoothie usually also contains kale, flax seeds, chia, a teaspoon of frozen OJ concentrate, a date, and frozen berries. I can't speak about the taste on it's own, because I've always used it with all these other goodies, but I can say that I feel like I've had a meal when I've finished my smoothie, and it satisfies me until I have a chance to take a dinner break 6 or more hours later. One of the reasons I chose this protein powder in particular was that it was vegan and does not contain stevia. I find the taste of stevia particularly unpleasant, but it's challenging to find a quality protein powder without it.

Gritty
It's great that it's GF and DF but it is gritty in shakes and smoothies. The price has gone up as well. I wish I had time to find a substitute product on the market. I like that this doesn't have a weird taste, pea protein or artificial sugars though. It's a pure product.

This product is recommended by my Naturopathic doctor and I've been taking this ...
This product is recommended by my Naturopathic doctor and I've been taking this for a long time. However I had to buy it through the company in the US and they charged me a lot. Then I found the same product through amazon this time with very reasonable price and I'm happy with it.
