How are users supposed to be able to answer this question when you give them no idea what "small rig cage" you are using? The silicon case thickness is about an 8th of an inch thick and the actual dimensions are given in the description details. Figure it out yourself or be more specific.

Does it interfere with a 3 axis gimbal?

All you have to do is look at the various pictures of the bottom of the case where the tripod screws to the base of the camera. There should not be any interference when using a 3D Gimble unless the body would rub up against any portion of the gamble other than the bottom tripod attachment.
