Excellent value for the bundle.
Well, a week or so before Halo: Reach came out, my 360 decided it would be a great time to start freezing up for no reason, and I wasn't going to pay to get it fixed when I got a replacement refurbished console just 9 months ago (finally got RROD'd but fell under the seemingly unlimited extended warranty for the 3 flashing lights). So I decided to go ahead and get the Halo: Reach bundle as a replacement. I fixed the old console anyway (unsurprisingly, the shoddy X-Clamps were the culprit), but figured it would be a nice upgrade to have regardless since my old one is the original model. The bundle is pretty nice for the $400 price tag. You get two controllers, a copy of Reach (with some extras thrown in for good measure) and of course, the console itself. Being an owner of an original Xbox 360, it's easy to notice the advantages the 360 S has over the old model. The biggest improvement is ventilation; you'll notice a lot of hot air coming out of the console and might worry it's overheating as a result, but it's actually doing a better job of pushing more air out (unlike the old console, which had terrible overheating problems). I haven't cracked open the console itself to see what they changed on the inside since I just got it and don't feel like voiding my brand new warranty (here's to hoping they got rid of the horribly cheap X-Clamps in the old model and replaced them with actual screws this time) but overall it seems like it does a much better job of dissipating heat so it seems like everything inside should work fine. There's numerous other improvements as well; built in Wireless N (which works great and takes almost no time to set up), touch sensitive buttons (which make cool Halo noises when used), and a sleeker, more angular design than the original 360 model. Oh, and one of the best parts of the new design? The console no longer sounds like a freight train! I wouldn't say it's "whisper quiet" like it's advertised as, but it is definitely quieter. The disc drive no longer makes your console sound like your Xbox is blasting off into space when in use. And if you install your games (which you should, with 250g of space to spare) it's even quieter. It still makes some noise, but at least it doesn't sound like your Xbox is trying to calculate the true value of Pi anymore. As for the design of the console, the console in this package is Halo-themed; it's silver and has the ONI logo on it and is labeled as an "Archive Reader." The Silver finish is great looking, so it will fit in well with the rest of your electronics so you won't have to be embarrassed to have it in your entertainment center. The two wireless controllers are also themed in a similar fashion to the console (again, a nice silver finish with black used for the shoulder buttons and the bottom part). Everything else about the controllers is the same, they just look cooler. The new Xbox also comes with a smaller power brick (albeit, there still is one). No, it isn't Reach themed (that would be sort of weird anyway) but it's smaller and the console itself uses less power overall. There are a few disappointments with the system (specifically related to all Xbox 360S'es, not the Halo: Reach one in particular since they're the same anyway). There's no memory card slot, so if you overpaid for one of those years ago (like I did) so you could carry your profile to your friend's house, well, you can basically throw it out since now you'll have to use USB drives. Also, the package doesn't come with an HDMI cable or a component HD AV cable, even though they had no issues packing one in with the Pro models almost 5 years ago. Guess Microsoft is trying to squeeze a few extra dollars out of purchasers. I had a spare HDMI cable anyway, so it didn't matter to me, but make sure you get some sort of HD capable cable if you buy this bundle and have an HDTV because otherwise you're stuck with standard def (and don't go and buy MS's overpriced cables, you can get an HDMI cable that's just as good for way less here on Amazon). I won't review Halo: Reach in depth here since there's already a ton of reviews about the game, but it is a potential Game of the Year candidate. It can definitely keep you entertained until the next generation of consoles, and probably even longer (after all, Halo 2 was more popular than any Xbox 360 game till Gears of War came out about a year later). It's worth buying a 360 for in my opinion, or more specifically, this bundle. In addition to Halo: Reach, you get some extras as well. You get a code for a Recon helmet variant (normally in any pre-order or launch day copy), a code for the Elite Officer armor permutation (Limited/Legendary edition normally), a Falcon for your Avatar (better than nothing I guess, although if you really like Avatars, I guess it's cool) and an episode of Halo: Legends. Some nice extras that certainly aren't going to make or break the package, but are nice extras nonetheless. Overall, you get a great value here. If you don't own a 360 but are interested in getting one so you can play Reach, this bundle is excellent and sports some cool looking controllers and a sexy console. If you're looking to upgrade and have the cash to spare, it's also worth the price (can always sell any extra stuff you don't need anyway). Aside from a few complaints about the console (complaints which apply to all 360 S consoles, not just the Reach one) the package is excellent.

Great start to getting into Xbox 360
I was unsure if I should drop $399.99 on this baby, but I said what the heck. It looks freakin' sweet. You get a nice matte finished console and controller, which feel good in your hands. That alone plus the game give you a great value for new products. I was a PS3 guy since it came out and it is backwards compatible and has not died out on me. All my friends had 360s but they always got the Red Ring and had to send it in for repairs or buy a new one. I felt proud to have a reliable console, but when I heard reviews of how this new 360 console works to better protect itself from overheating, that sealed the deal for me. This console is nice. 250 GB is a lot of room for DLC, videos, etc. The touch sounds you get when opening/closing the disc tray as well as turning it on/off is really nice as it separates it from the gloss finished ones and shows off its limitedness. The console itself is pretty quiet. After playing Reach for 8 hours, it wasn't even alarmingly hot. It was warm, which all electronics tend to be over a period of time. Sorry to all of those who says this overheats, for it does not. There are a total of 5 USB ports on this rig. I currently have no use for any of them, but can be nice when you want to plug crap in I guess. Then you got the HDMI output and whatnot, all that stuff from the old Elites are here. I do enjoy the removable hard drive in this one as it is slim compared to the old Hard Drives. You can take it out and put into other new 360s. If you are worried about having to transfer your files, get the hard drive transfer cable or go to YouTube and find videos that show you how to take apart your old Elite 120 GB hard drive and stuff it in. But be warned as it will be hard to take out after you put in I hear. As for add-ons, you get the good stuff. You get a special UNSC Falcon Avatar item, which is cooler than the Covenant Banshee that came with the controllers (purchased separately), the Officer Elite Armor (comes in limited edition Halo Reach), and the Recon Helmet for pre-ordering (but I bet all the console editions have it included). The only thing you do not get is the flaming spartan head armor effect, but it won't make you feel gypped. Having these cool armors and avatar item is satisfaction enough. Oh, also included is the last episode from Halo Legends, the movie of 8 anime bits in the Halo universe. You get the "Package" and it is quite nice to have and be able to watch it from your xbox. I only dislike how the Halo Legends episode was a code and was not readily available to watch on the console, but downloading it only took a few minutes. It is a 15-minute long episode with CGI graphics and is really the best of the 8 episodes IMO. You can see what I mean as all 8 episodes are available via YouTube. The console, the controllers, the headset, Reach, and all the virtual items you get with this make it worth the money. It saved me headache of wondering what external fan to get for a older model 360 as this stays nice and cool and very quite. The matte finished controllers match the console and just feel good in your hands. Allows you to easily shoot down enemies and do well in Matchmaking. The headset is nothing special, but works. It is black and easily plugs into the controller and has the Talk/Mute option on the side of the cord versus it being at the place where it plugged into the controller of older model headsets. The episode of Halo Legends is sweet and is nice to be able to watch on a television set. The virtual items you get will hold you over until you start ascending the ranks in Halo Reach. I love my Officer Elite armor and I keep my Recon Visor Helmet on all the time. So far, I have not bought any armor as it all looks like crap compared to the default set-up with the Recon helmet equipped. Having the Falcon being controlled by avatar is a plus as almost no one will have it--it is exclusive to users of this console only. If yours did not comes with a code for the Falcon, you can still get it through Halo Waypoint (I had to use this method). All in all, a great buy for 2 controllers, a game, a console, and a few extras you get here and there. Worth my money and glad to be a Gold Xbox Live Member playing Halo Reach matchmaking. It felt like Christmas came early!

Underwhelmed
This is an Xbox 360 slim and it does play games, come with 2 controllers, a code to download a free chapter of Halo Legends and the Halo Reach game. That being said, for a special limited edition version they certainly cheaped out wherever they could. 1. Only SD Video Cables included. No HDMI, No Component, just Yellow, White & Red. 2. Halo Reach is the regular edition, nothing more. 3. The version of Halo Reach included comes in a regular black case (no transparent green here). 4. Controllers don't come with rechargeable batteries. 5. No charge and play cable. 6. Headset is a generic black wired set. 7. No data transfer kit. Now I might not have really noticed about numbers 3-6 if everything I mentioned hadn't been included in the Halo 3 Edition 360! Come on Microsoft, I expect more when I shell out for a premium version. Also word of advice, don't order this item with anything else as it will smash it to hell in shipping, I have a pitiful looking DVD to prove it. Edit: And now I see that they even sell special Reach edition wireless headsets, why wasn't one of these included?

The best way Bungie could have made their final Game.
I will start out by saying I am a 17 year old who plays with his friends and family online. I have always been a First Person Shooter fan. Modern Warfare 2 was the best, But recently laggers and glitches have ruined the game. I looked for a game to play until Black Ops comes out. I will start out by saying the console in it self is AMAZEING and I find it a great deal for 400 bucks. I had a old Arcade with a 20gb hard drive. So the 250gb is a great upgrade. Console: For 400 bucks this bundle is a steal you are getting.. . A 250gb Xbox Console (300 Bucks) . 2 Halo reached themed controllers (They Look amazeing) 50 dollars per controller = (100 Bucks) . A copy of Halo Reach. (60 bucks) That adds up to $460. While you are paying $400. Virtually you are saving 60 bucks. Which is the price of a new game! Gameplay. Forge: Forge has faced a graphical overhaul since Halo 3. All of the common things that were tricks and hard for some people to do in Halo 3, have now been built into the game making it much easier for these tasks to be performed. You can allow objects to float (phased) Normal ( Halo 3 style ) And one other that allows you to put objects through the environment. Forge ***** (5 stars) It is going to be insane what the community comes up with. Multiplayer: I have yet to play much Multiplayer but the games I did play were much more relaxing than Modern Warfare 2. My first game I thought there had to be a lag! Because Halo Reach is much slower paced ( In a good way). And all the people that thought Jet Pack noobs would rule the game? Honestly very little people were actually using them. I rate the online. *****(5 Stars) Campaign: After reading reviews and playing the first level with a friend I must say. This is Bungies best campaign for any Halo game to date. Your spartan you create for multiplayer is taken into campaign. And any cut scenes show the except spartan you create (its awesome) . And the story I have read is a great prequel to the Halo Series. Console: This is the new Xbox 360 Redesign it looks amazeing with the silver paintjob. The Custom sounds I thought would be annoying are actually pretty epic. Im not a massive halo fan but they are a great addition to the console. Its whisper quiet and I would highly reccomend getting it. Build in Wifi is a plus. I had no connection issues whatsoever. Overview Graphics 5/5 (Much better than Halo 3) Online 5/5 (A big change from Halo 3 but a amazing change) Firefight 5/5 ( EXTREMELY fun with alot of friends) Campaign 5/5 ( A great prequel to Halo) Game Overall 5/5 The Greatest Halo Game I have ever played. Console Overall 5/5 PS: Sorry for the bad review this is my first game review.

Fool me once...
I bought this 360 used from one of the other Amazon retailers. It worked great when I got it and, aside from a few cosmetic blemishes, it looked great too. The controller was worn and has some stick drift but that's expected of a used controller. What is unacceptable about this is that less than three months after my purchase the damn thing won't work properly. It started turning on a and off by itself, making the startup noises while off and opening the disc tray randomly. Then the Wireless internet connector stopped working. And for icing on the cake, now it won't go five minutes before it turns off by itself. I am very dissatisfied with this purchase. I have owned several Xbox 360s and this is by far the worst of them. I would not recommend buying a used console of any kind from Amazon.

Most Feature-packed FPS made and Great System!
I received this special edition Reach Xbox 360 on release day and, after spending a full 12 hours with the game, I can honestly say that Halo Reach is the most feature-packed FPS ever created and it is THE BEST HALO to date period. Many reviewers out there really just bring the score down for minutely small details and flaws such as taking too many shots to kill enemies or comparing it to Modern Warfare 2. However, with this sort of game, you really have to look at the big picture, admiring the package as a whole and how carefully polished each aspect of the game is even though some parts of the game may be slightly imperfect. The campaign is the second best of the series, following the masterpiece story that was excellently told in Halo: CE. The third best would be that of Halo 3: ODST for personal reasons despite the second and third games' epic scales. While friendly A.I. are helpful on grounded missions, they become utterly atrocious behind the wheel just as with all other halo games. Fortunately, the enemy A.I., especially the Elites, are absolutely nightmarish to deal with on heroic/legendary. Their complex and unpredictable behavior and the sandbox qualities of each level adds tons of replay value to the campaign. If the campaign isn't enough for you, head on over to the bread-and-butter of Bungie's excellent series, the multi-player, now including tons of customization, options, and a plethora of modes to choose from. A beefed up forge, firefight, huge maps, and the inclusion of armor abilities add a whole layer of fresh to the series. When starting the game up, I noticed the menu layout was especially striking and sleek. This amount of polish and care is carried over to all parts of the game. Imagine that! While Bungie has always been super artistic with all of their games, the art, design, and visuals in this game are the best of the series and make you stop in your steps and drool at the amazingly detailed and believable background vistas and back-drops. It's truly a sight to behold and gives the planet Reach its own character. In addition, wildlife makes its first appearance in this game, which is a definite plus in my book. The system itself is a true collector's item. From the silver matte finish to the custom halo sounds, even though they are fairly quiet, this system is just screaming Halo and win all over. The designs on the controllers and the system are also very indicative of the halo universe and bring the console to life. In the end, Halo Reach is absolutely stunning in every aspect and delivers on all fronts despite few, if any, flaws and poor design choices. If you're a Halo fan and you want to witness a satisfying conclusion to the Halo series by Bungie, don't even think one second and pick this game up ASAP even if you're a newcomer to the Halo series. There's something in this game for everyone! I'd even hand over more than $60 for a game like Halo Reach. Seriously, it's that great.

Great deal
I purchased this 360 because I'm currently deployed in Iraq and left the PS3 with my wife. This is a great system. I really look forward to playing online when I get back to the States. The interface/homescreen is really user friendly. However there are a few things I'm not a huge fan of: The system gets crazy hot. I can see why so many of them over heat and red ring. Also as being an owner of both systems with a non biased opinion I can say that the graphics of the ps3 are much better, but it doesnt take much away from the gameplay of call of duty too much. I say if you are in the market for a new 360 I would get this one. The built in wifi along with a 250gb hdd, 2 controllers and a game for 400 is a nice package. But if you are just looking for a new system all together, I would probably still get a PS3.. just my opinion.

I love the game - I LOVE THE NEW 360
The Halo Reach 360 - The console itself is a lovely upgrade. We've had our 360 since it came out in 2006 - well, we've had a few mishaps (red rings of death) and the most current one had lasted from April of 2008. But, it was loud, the hard drive was always teetering on full, and it was crashing more and more. The new console is amazing. In comparison to the black 360 slim, I love it too. I have black furniture in my house, and it shows dust terribly after one evening. So we were avoiding getting the new shiny black console after seeing how the PS3 takes to any dust. I HATE cleaning the PS3 and wasn't looking forward to another black console. Then I saw the lovely silver Reach console. It really stands out amongst the black boxes otherwise sitting in our entertainment center. But it's a much nicer design than the old white 360. The graphics themselves are not incredibly noticable, which I like. Meant to look like an archive reader, the decoration isn't flashy and doesn't come off as a prop. Plus, the grey on silver is a lovely touch. The Halo noises when turning on and off are a cute touch. Except... I never hear them! They only occur when you press the button on the console to turn it on, and I always turn it on and off with the controller. I really wish they happened then, but no big deal. The console itself is silent. A BIG difference. It's much faster as well. Most of the differences seem like they would be obvious - better design, HDMI port (which yes, 360s have had before but ours was old enough to not have that), smaller power supply, etc etc. Overall, I'm super happy with the console. It gets 5 stars just for making me super happy. The Halo designed controllers- We've also had the older controllers. The new design is nice - they feel lighter, the D-pad feels A LOT nicer. The only annoying thing is the changing of the main xbox button in the center to a shiny silver. It reflects a lot. It just annoys me personally, but I suppose I'm being picky. The designs are simple like the console. But one is already starting to wear, but that is to be expected. The headset- Is wired. And black. No one ever really said what the headset would be. It's plain. I haven't even opened it as it is our 4th working headset (5th if you count the one I broke). Meh. It's a headset. The Game- BAH! The game is beautiful. In full HDMI on a 46" TV, I'm just very happy. The campaign is fun, although I'll admit to being disappointed at the end. Some of the story is off if you follow the books... or really some of the other games. But if you ignore that, it's cool. The weapons feel a lot better, in comparison to Halo 3 I find it a lot easier to just aim. Firefight has gotten even better. My favorite game to play has been "gruntapocolypse" where it's just grunts with the birthday party effect. Amazing. The multiplayer has also gotten better. It's worth it to buy the game just for the multiplayer. Invasion is really neat - very fun - and should get better as people continue to figure out how to play it. It's been really great. Extras- The recon helmet is... nothing special. Just a small add on no one really notices. But nice to have. The falcon avatar accessory is super cute. The elite armor is my favorite thing. I love it. ALSO it should be noted that if you have two xbox live accounts on one console you BOTH get the stuff. We split it amongst the two of us, and then got in the game and we both had the armor. So that's nice to know. Overall I can't help but give this 5 stars. I really enjoy it.

Dust Bunny On The Back
The console runs okay so far. The controller was pretty grimy and so was the system. and I might have misread the description but doesn't the Halo Reach X Box 360 special edition come with the Halo Reach game?

Love the game
Love the game, console overheats rather quickly. I had to add an external fan to it. I'll probably need to replace hard drive soon.
