Is this bow appropriate for advanced playing and performing?

My son is an advanced player-cello. He recently did a community service at a string repair shop; he was told that his bow is worth less $100, the owner of the shop was extremely generous - he gave my son another bow valued at $500. I was very disappointed that the piano guys charged so much for the bow.

This is not as loud as the bow I was using. What could be the problem?

Your rosin is maybe little heavy. You don't have to tighten very much. I had the same problem They are great bows
