That is works to lower cholesterol. He has been taking this product for several months. His check up after 2 months was good his cholesterol came down. His last check up in May the doctor was amazed how great his cholesterol numbers were. Would recommend to people.

I normally don't write reviews, but I couldn't pass on this one. This product is amazing. Here is my story. I'm 49 years old have been struggling with high cholesterol with numbers ranging from 207 to 227 since 19 years old (runs in the family). Do to strong family history of heart disease my cardiologist had me do a heart scan which came back elevated (range 0 - 100) mine came back at 60 which my dr. wasn't happy. Therefore he put me on Lipitor which I wasn't found in taking it. After doing some research I came across Red Yeast Rice. After reading a lot of reviews I decided to try it. Well, I have to say I'm so happy I did. My cardiologist called me with my recent blood work results and told me to continue with the supplement. Yeah!!! Here are my numbers before and after. Aug 8, 2013 Nov. 2013 Total 227 175 LDL 145 97 HLD 71 64 BTW I take less than the recommended amount. I'm 5.0 tall, 103lbs I take 1 pill with breakfast and 1 with dinner, I also take 1 (100mg) CoQ-10 each time with the red rice. UPDATE Just had my follow up blood work done. And I'm very happy to report that my numbers have maintained. My HDL actually increased to 74 which is a good thing. Still taking only (2) a day (morning and evening)

this product is potent. i say this because i'm of the rare few that cannot handle pharmaceutical statins such as atorvastatin. statins cause my muscles to ache and break down to a point it crimples me. for the lucky many that don't understand what happens, imagine straining your your muscles lifting to the point of total failure. now imagine your body NEVER repairing itself and you remain crimpled. that is what statin does to me and the unlucky few. health wise im a 33 year old guy that is lean, muscular athletic, goes to gym frequently, eats very healthy, into extreme adrenaline sports, and normally very strong. but genetically my LDL is very high around 234, and my HDL isn't at around 45. without needing to explain my diet, it can definitely say i eat a proper nutritional diet; not much red meats, plenty of fish and vegetables, organics, etc. i have tried another similar brand with the name of nature way for RYR, it's not as potent as NOW but my body seemed to accept it with only 1 pill per day. RYR shares similarity to lovastatin. but RYR differs in concentration between brands. so i will have to say NOW brand is potent because my body is mildly reacting to this brand the same was atorvastatin did to me when i was prescribed a heavy 40mg daily dose. i cannot handle this brand NOW at 1 pill per day; i take it every other day or 2 days. with that said, it's not to scare anyone off, but it's to say their supplement is more refined. i hope for the best experience for everyone.

Has no bitter taste and seems to be working well. No complaints and packaging is nice. Size of pills are large though and the dose is two pills at a time.

I use this to control my cholesterol. All natural easy to swallow, digestion is great.

I use this in place of statin drugs to avoid the statin side effects which i have had before . My cholesterol numbers are within reasonable levels. Your body and brain need cholesterol to function and there is plenty of medical studies that say the below 190 levels pushed today are more harm than help.
