The light is nice and bright and the color is a vibrant blue. It's just enough light to see at night without illuminating too much of the house.

I read a lot of mixed reviews on these, and was a little concerned about how well they would work. I am glad to say that these are perfect for me! They cast just the right amount of light in a pitch dark room, to be able to see where you're going. It's a soft enough light that your eyes won't be blinded, and bright enough that you can see and avoid knee bashing, toe stubbing obstacles in the night, without having to turn on lights. I have installed them in my high traffic areas, making getting around the house at stupid:o'clock in the morning, a breeze. They're easy on the eyes. I can even go down to the basement at night, to empty the dehumidifier, which is almost 6 feet away from where my light is plugged in, without having to turn on any other lights, which over time, will save me some on the electric bill. I'd suggest that if these are to be used as a night light for a bedroom, and you don't much care for a soft light, illuminating the entire room, that you place electrical tape over part of the illuminated lens, to suit your preferences. Electrical tape comes in all sorts of colors these days, including white, so if you're OCD, then get white tape & a razor, and carefully, neatly & partially cover the lens, to cut down on the light emission enough to suit your needs. Nobody will know it but you, and it will look like it was manufactured that way. If you need something more than what these provide, I'd suggest sticking with a standard, bright white night light. I often find those to be offensively bright though, personally. <--- This is a suggestion for some of the complaints I have read. People need to also understand, that more or less square footage you have in a home, will effect your needs, based on the size of the room you use these in. People who's eyes are sensitive to light, or that are color blind, may not get the same results as me. I'm sure there's other factors to keep in mind when purchasing for your needs, but as for quality of the product, I think these are made well, and I expect that they're a lifetime purchase, and not something I'll ever have to toss in a landfill, due to poor construction/design/manufacturing.

These lights light up the whole room blue!! Actually they are too bright for me!! Great time shipping, and packing & handling.

I received my first set in 2001 as a housewarming gift, and I have given these as housewarming gifts. They have a modern look, and I like the soft blue light. I use them in the kitchen, hallways, and bathrooms to cast a pleasant soft glow in areas where you need a little something to navigate when it's dark. The original ones I received in 2001 are about half the amount of glow, so I bought this last set to replace them because they're just not bright enough any more. I also keep one of these in my travel kit for hotels.

They fit the need.

I love these “blue light” night lights. They are very helpful. Not too bright to disrupt your sleep but perfect when you have to get up in the middle of the night.
