Lansky Fine Hone

It works just fine I am replacing one in my kit. That was wore out this is a good replacement for the Lansky sharpening kit

I did have to learn one thing on this Lansky stone and that was direction to slide it over the blade. First one in the kit I put too much pressure and pushed it into the stone too hard. It created a large uneven surface so I got this one and watched a few tutorials and now my blades are truly razor sharp. I think I’m going to run a comparison of popular sharpening systems under $100. I’ve never posted videos here out on YouTube but I’ll give it a shot here soon. I recommend the whole Lansky system if you like doing your sharpening manually. It has become therapy for me….lol

Use a Lansky system for sharpening my knives and tools. It works well and I have been needing anew fine stone and works as expected.

They are fairly fragile. When I'm installing the guide rods I always insert the guide rod into the hone. Then I place the hone on a flat surface to make sure the entire assembly ( guide rod + hone ) are directly in line with each other. Sometimes the way they line up isn't the same from one hone to the next. At which point the rod must be adjusted. Don't make my mistake & think oh it only just needs the smallest tweak only to break out the end of the hone notice in my pictures where I needed to epoxy two of mine. I wish the rods had a flat spot for the thumb screw to tighten against so they wouldn't come loose while I'm working with it

Does it’s job. I have only used it a couple times so I can’t comment on long term durability or performance however, it has worked awesome for the price.

Very fast shipping as usual with Amazon. Tested out this hone yesterday and so far am very happy with it. Left a nice polished very sharp edge on one of my harder to sharpen blades.

Wears quickly but cuts well and leaves a good edge, quite easy to polish afterwards.
