Dorman 800-082 Fuel Line Quick Connector That Adapts 3/8 In. Steel to 3/8 In. Nylon Tubing, 2 Pack Universal Fit

These connectors work great, but getting the nylon fuel line fully attached can take a lot of work. Lot's of YT videos on how to heat the nylon fuel line to attach to the fuel line fitting using a heat gun, but be careful not to get the heat TOO hot or the nylon line will bubble, around 400 degrees is about right. Move the heat gun around the entire diameter of the tubing. As soon as it's pliable enough, force the tubing onto the Dorman fuel line fitting. Maybe place the connector against a hard surface such as a table first. If it doesn't go past the 3rd rib on the connector, heat it up some more, keep it going on as straight as possible, and be patient. I replaced a fuel pump on a 98 Ford Explorer, and this Dorman fuel line connector ended up getting the job done, and the best part, NO LEAKS!!!

This is perfect for a 2002 Saturn L100 fuel tank output from the fuel pump to the filter (fuel RETURN to the tank requires the smaller 5/16 quick-connect). This 3/8 adapter will also work on the fuel filter outlet to the engine. Over the years these quick connects wear out, get loose, and just pop off...not a good thing while driving on the highway. Also get Dorman's 3/8 nylon fuel hose and a heat gun, put a spark-plug sized wire inside the hose to prevent kinking, and heat the hose just enough to bend it to the correct shape of the original hose.

I was under the impression I could change these out using just a heatgun. Boy was I wrong. I broke two lines trying to fix them. This is incredibly hard to install without the paired DORMAN 300 tool, and that tool is expensive costing over $100. Check the price of the actual lines before buying to avoid wasting money- If I had known the lines were relatively reasonably priced, I would've originally just bought them. I ended up giving up on using these and buying brand new fresh lines. Of course- over the return window so I'm stuck with these now. Quality itself seems OK, but the need for the extra expensive tool kills any money you would've saved unless you're doing these lines constantly all the time in a shop or something.

Used this to fix the fuel tank side of the fuel line on my 2010 Canyon. Softened the line with a heat gun, yanked off the old fitting, and shoved the new one on. Took much less time/effort than expected and has not leaked.

I had bought a pre-made nylon fuel line for my truck. Soon as installed, it leaked at both ends, where the manufacturer used fittings with the wrong size barbs. I was in a hurry, so ordered these from Amazon, while waiting for them to resolve the problem. I warmed up the ends of the nylon line just enough to make it warm, but not too hot and flexible, put a little grease on the barbs, and just jammed them in by hand, no clamps as recommended to not use. They have now been installed and driven several weeks to work, with no problems. Everything is dry, no leaks.

Helped run a new fuel hose with no leaks on a 2001 gmc jimmy. The fuel line was rusted together and I couldn't remove the filter so I ran a new line and connected to the original fuel line after the filter going to the engine. This kit worked perfect to connect the rubber hose to the fuel pump outlet with 1 worm gear hose clamp to keep the hose on the barbs. Snapped in place with no leaks.

These fittings can save you time and money if you need to repair your plastic fuel hose or if your fittings get damaged. It is far better to have the proper installation tool to install new fittings on plastic hose, but if you're patient and take your time you can install them by hand. Just search the internet for plastic fuel line fitting installation and you will find the process to install them by hand. I was able to replace my damaged fittings without having to replace the entire hose assembly and save a decent amount of money.

Worked for my repair needed

Was hesitant to purchase this to repair a rotten fuel line on my plow truck, couldn't get 100% confirmation that it would fit the fuel rail quick disconnect on my 5.3 engine in my 2005 sierra. After purchasing this, 25ft of dorman nylon fuel line, and a couple of nylon to nylon unions I made a new fuel line to splice into the existing nylon fuel line coming off of my fuel tank. This quick connect fitting worked perfect to attach my new fuel line to the fuel rail on my engine, and I'm told this should also fit onto the quick disconnect tube at the fuel tank sending unit as well. I also purchase this same style of fitting but in a 90° configuration but it should work just the same.

This is Dorman 800-082 which I used to connect to my Fuel Cooler on GMC Sierra 2500HD Duramax 2004.5 LLY. Used with 6AN 3/8" Fuel Line Hose, 10FT Stainless Steel Nylon Braided Fuel Hose for Gas/Oil (3/8" 6AN) by Poweka and Glarks 12Pack 12-14mm Stainless Steel Mini Fuel Injection Hose Clamps. Fastened on to my steel lines using Dorman 800-035.5 Fuel Line Adapter - 3/8 In. Steel Compression to 3/8 In. Nylon Barbed, 5 Pack Universal Fit. Hope this helps someone as I spent countless hours checking all this to fit.
