Does the job. its not perfect
this does the job ok. I wish it tucked around the bottom of the jaw area better. I would still recommend this to use.

Not durable. Support poor.
I got this for a Petzl helmet for occasional forestry work. I've only had it 7 months. The screen is already coming off the frame. I have not found any way to buy a new screen without buying a whole new visor, even though the screen part is obviously replaceable.I contacted customer support. They asked for photos. I took the trouble of sending them photos, and they said I'd need to send it to them, then they would decide if they'd do anything and MAYBE replace it.I would have willingly just paid for the screen itself, but they don't sell that part, or replace it.I ended up buying a screen intended for another model and using a drill and knife to make it fit. This is way too expensive for something that only lasts a few months. Would not buy another Petzl helmet because of the poor quality and lack of replacement screens.

not durable, overpriced.
Really really expensive. Visor itself is great, i will say it isnt durable at all. Hinge wore out in a few weeks of part time use and it falls down when i dont want it to. For $70 dollars the hinge shouldve been metal or stronger polymer. not cheap plastic. Contacted seller to see if theyll honor any kind of exchange on it. Will update after i hear back from them.UPDATE they refused to offer any kind of help even though ive only used the visor briefly. do not buy this visor. The hinge is cheap junk.

Too flimsy
I’m a big fan of Petzl products and the vertex helmet is pretty good. I can recommend the helmet but the accessories, particularly this face shield and the eye protection visor are ridiculously overpriced and don’t have the typical Petzl bombproof quality. This shield is a bit long and because of the add-on design has no support below the helmet attachment point. I put mine carefully in my climbing bag stored in a closet. A few days later I find the shield “bent” and distorted in shape. It would still likely be functional but the visual annoyance was incredible. By comparison the Husqvarna (nonclimbing) chainsaw helmet with similar face shield design doesn’t needs such white glove treatment and it holds its shape. The best but more costly option is something like the Pfanner Protos with a much more robust design for helmet and shield. Too expensive you say? By the time you add ear and face shield protection to a Petzl helmet you are getting pretty close to the cost of a Protos. I wish I’d just gone with the better Protos from the beginning. Again, the Petzl helmet itself is very good. If just for climbing that would be my #1 recommendation, but if you need this for climbing and cutting I’d recommend the Protos instead.

Meh.
I normally love Petzl, but this is a huge miss for them. The vizen is flimsy and frequently detaches from the top band.I’m an arborist and this has been relegated to my felling-from-the-ground kit because there were two instances I was up in a tree and the visor detached. I chucked it to the ground and carried on with just safety glasses, but that’s just not acceptable. If you are a home user this is fine. Pros def buy the Protos.

Kept falling off
Absolute waist of money.

No bottom lock, raises up constantly
No bottom lock, it wants to raise up all the time. The top inner corner interferes with ear protection fit on Petzl helmet. What one would expect from a 10 dollar off brand face shield maybe. However Petzl is charging top $$ for this instead.
