I read so many reviews on umbrellas before deciding on this one. I read many complaints about other umbrellas color fading after just a few days. The reviews on this did not have such complaints. Our summers where I live in sunny Calif are 100°+ so if an umbrella was going to fade, it would. This umbrella was extremely easy for me to assemble & cranks open/close easily. I've had it open since it arrived a month ago. (except for this pic) There has been no fading at all. I love the color, the shade it makes, the ease of using it. I love everything about this umbrella! I haven't tried the tilt yet b/c I haven't needed to. I'm 5'3 & would need a stool to press that button to use the tilt feature. Anyone a little taller would be able to do it. This is a very well made, quality umbrella & I'd expect the tilt feature to be the same. Highly recommend. Update: July 15,2022 It's been 1yr since my umbrella has been up & opened all day, everyday. I added pics so you can judge for yourself regarding any fading. I'm still COMPLETELY happy with this awesome umbrella! Yes, there may be some slight fading, but nothing that I'd noticed until matching it up with the pics in my initial review. After all, our temps in the Inland Empire in California are typically in the triple digits all summer, so in my opinion, I'd say this umbrella has held up beautifully! It still looks great & functions perfectly. No rips, tears or any problems whatsoever. Buy it!

Durability is really nice for the price and it looks exactly as pictured. The canvas is thick and the pole sturdy. It’s a little difficult to get the handle because it’s so high on the pole. But it winds up and down easily. Would be ideal if it was further down the pole so I didn’t have to stand on a chair to reach it. A great purchase overall.

Great quality, great size it fit very perfectly in my yard got it on sale. Highly recommended.

I was very surprised to read the bad reviews about this umbrella being a piece of junk, flimsy and thin. Perhaps it makes a difference what color your order? Our dark green is the thickest, most solid, beautiful shade and fabric of all the umbrellas we've had through the years with the possible exception of couple patterned umbrellas that were rated quite high for their beauty though they were thin material. At any rate, we've had a lot of umbrellas and we use several every season. Of the three we have been using this spring and summer (all different brands from different vendors) this one in dark green is by far the thickest, sturdiest, and most durable. I am thinking the bad reviews possibly mean different weight fabric is used on different colors and some fabrics just may not be that durable. Or, perhaps there is no quality control and it's the luck of the draw. In that case, we lucked out. We are still using ours now as we go into fall. We will put it away for the winter and go right into using it again next spring with no issue.

As soon as I opened the box I liked the umbrella. Still waited for the end of a season to see how it works. Works very well indeed! Very easy to assemble, very easy to open and close, relatively easy to tilt (the button based tilting system requires some effort), and does not yet have any visible damage from the sun or rain. The manual honestly says the material is expected to stay as is for a couple of years, then it will fade: this is what happened to my previous umbrella, also polyester based. I like the honesty. And I like the price, by the way. Now, the base has to be bought separately, but I already had one. It is standard size, fits smoothly. Update a year later. The umbrella worked better than its price would imply. I have had it staying outside without a cover all this time, under New England snow and rain and wind and sun, and i cannot detect any visible fading of the color. (A few reviews did mention fadng was an issue, so take it into account.) I have stupidly broken the umbrella by having left it open before a storm, and during the storm it flew away from my patio and took the glass table with it. The heavy umbrella base broke apart (!) and the glass shattered into a million of tiny pieces, quite spectacular actually. One or several pieces of the glass tore a hole in the fabric, and the weight of it all broke one of the spokes into two pieces. Because it happened at the end of the season, I decided to reassemble the umbrella and used it several more times on warmer days in the fall. Then it stayed up all winter as I mentioned earlier. Today I am replacing it with the new one, the same type. Let's see how it holds up!
