Bostitch Vertical Battery Pencil Sharpener, Green (BPS3V-GREEN)

It would be easier to sharpen my pencils with a butter knife.The first pencil I inserted was instantly shredded. Not over sharpened, completely broken with almost half the pencil turned to chunky mulch.After meticulously cleaning the chunks out, I tried another pencil, this time VERY slowly and carefully. This achieved about a half sharpened state, before it again suddenly ate the pencil.On about the tenth attempt (I'm an artist and I'll be darned if I can't operate a simple pencil sharpener) my spouse begged me to declare the project a fail and just buy another pencil sharpener.It is near impossible to clean out if anything gets stuck (and something will definitely get stuck every time).This is the "razor blade" type of sharpener, so the pencil has to line up exactly - but the design makes it very difficult to do that.We are returning it and hopefully buying something that actually sharpens pencils.

We've had this pencil sharpener a little over a year. I should have known this type of blade would underperform. It's essentially a little kid's, hand-held school sharpener, but with a motor.I was sad when my trusty, 20+ year old Bostitch, battery powered sharpener died. That worked beautifully every time & I rarely replaced batteries (but in fairness, I didn't use it super frequently). I figured this kind of blade was the new thing (it seemed very popular!) so I'd give it a try. It was certainly a nice price (I paid about $12 after tax). The battery power is fine, we use it a lot now & the motor seems to keep going.But the blade just doesn't compare (in my opinion) to a helical blade like my old Bostitch had. I feel like it did an ok job in the beginning so we kept it. Now about 13 months later the frustration outweighs its performance. Today it ate up almost half of a full pencil & still didn't give it a sharp point.I would not recommend this product for someone who already knows the simple joy of getting a reliably sharp pencil every time and in just a few seconds with a helical blade.

I bought this to replace my nicer electric bostitch sharpener that worked great until I donated it to my daughter’s classroom and they broke it within less than a week. I figured it just wasn’t meant to hold up to commercial use so I went with the same brand. This does not sharpen pencils. It doesn’t even create shavings! It makes noise but that’s about It. I hate being wasteful and hate having to return something. I would keep it if it was even subpar but it literally does nothing at all except make a noise.

Well, you can’t polish a turd. This is a weak sharpener. If you are looking for hand sharpening appearance this is not gonna work. It’s makes choppy movements and the wood around the lead is jagged. When I thought I had a good sharpened pencil I’d notice the lead tip was wiggly and I’d have to start again. And if the lead breaks off inside the shapener there is no convenient way to get the broken tip out. I had to turn it upside down and beat it. Thought this would help the kids have sharpened coloring pencils, but it just creates more frustration.

We got a pencil point stuck in the sharpener, have not been able to get it out, we have tried everything we can think of. I will have to disassemble the device to be able to use it again. Just went back to a manual sharpener my daughter won at chucky cheese for 25 tickets. It works good, giving shadowy points than this bostitch and you can accessed the blade area to remove stuck points.

Works great for getting a sharp point, and motor stops as soon as the pencil has reached maximum sharpness. But the batteries drain pretty quick. Our 7 year old daughter has a lot of those round pencils with full color printing on them, and the sharpener has a little trouble grinding through those, Considering getting a different sharpener that plugs in, but this works for now.

These are always great products. This one is battery operated so I returned it but the brand holds up. I have only purchased 2 electric ones in 10 yrs, maybe longer.

This sharpener is fantastic, it sharpens any brand of pencil to the most amazing point.I sharpened my entire set of Polychromos Pencils and some cheap brand pencils on the first evening of owning it and itnever skipped a beat. I only had to empty the shavings 4 times so it holds a nice large amount.So easy to use and a cute color.

El sacapuntas es de buena calidad, requiere de pilas para funcionar pues no se puede conectar a la corriente eléctrica, fue un regalo para mi hijo que va en la primaria, lo usa a diario, funciona bien, el único pero es que solo le caben los lápices o colores de tamaño estándar, no le caben los lápices más anchos o triangulares.

Es muy comodo y practico, saca muy bien la punta con un muy buen angulo que hace que no se rompa tan seguido la punta a los lápices, sin embargo un poco fragil , sacándole punta a un lapiz aplique un poco mas de presión que la que deberia y uno de los engranes se trabo, me gusto tanto el producto que decidi darle una segunda oportunidad y compre otro, esperemos este dure mas.

El mecanismo funciona bien, afilado fino y bueno en general, pero es un poco mas lento con los lapices q no son redondos

Bien, pero el tamaño es más pequeño del que esperaba, (no es el tamaño de un sacapuntas eléctrico convencional). Entrega rápida y bonito diseño. Funcional

Muy útil. Muy buena potencia. Es pequeño y decorativo. Pero igual de sólido. Lo recomiendo.

Nada que recalcar cumple su función y es un tanto ligero para poder cargarlo en la casa, oficina o escuela.

Not very useful and it is expensive. It does not worth it at all. It worked for only a few days. Do not buy it.

Enviaron uno usado y roto.... lo devolví y me reembolsaron.... con la molestia del envió y esperar el dinero de la devolución

No necesita cables, solo pilas. Esto lo hace muy práctico.
