A little resistant to mixing with slight nutty flavor.
Does not dissolve into water easily stirring with a spoon. Some will remain in small clumps, requiring vigorous mixing. Using a handheld mixer would work better. I don't mind the clumps though. I just drink it. I prefer this form of psyllium husk to Metamucil, with the flavor being slightly nutty. I make my own bread and the flavor is very close to that of whole wheat flour. Not unpleasant at all, just different. As with Metamucil, you need to drink it soon after mixing to avoid gelling. I also add a little of this to flour when making bread to increase fiber content.

Great for people with GI problems.
I have been taking this for a couple of months now. I have diverticulitis and a high fiber diet is recommended for gut health and reoccurring inflammation. This has worked for me. It has kept me out of the doctors office and ED so far. I will say that I find the taste not great when mixed with water. So I mix it with 4 to 5 ounces of organic orange juice in the mornings. It completely masked the taste. I am a nurse and have recommended this to several of my patients with G.I. issues. I like the fact that there are no other ingredients like sucralose or artificial flavor that you will find in bigger namebrand fiber products. For the results that I receive, I feel like you cannot beat the price. I will continue to be using this and recommending.

adequate if you don't mind purple baked goods
I was shocked when the rolls I was baking turned dark purple, nearly black. I have not had this issue with other brands. The rolls tasted ok but the color was off putting.

Makes a big difference
I’m really impressed with this product. You can’t get this much fiber from a pill. I first tried mixing it with tea, and that was a big mistake. It turned into a gelatin mess. Then I tried mixing it with a handmixer in room temperature water, and I barely tasted it. I drink it quickly so it doesn’t start turning into gelatin. I noticed a big and positive difference with digestion immediately. I’m hoping it will lower my blood glucose, but only time will tell with that.

Does the job perfectly
I wanted to add soluble fiber to my diet and saw this product recommended in a magazine article. It has worked wonders to jump start my diet and I've lost some 12 lbs in 4 weeks. I take a heaped spoon twice a day and I feel so full that I can't eat a 2nd helping and don't even think about snacking. That's a pleasantly odd situation for me to be in. This is pure husk powder (very fine powder!) and so has a slightly woody taste. There are no sweetners or flavors and i like that. It's a neutral taste that's neither good not bad. When added to water, this clumps and becomes like thick jelly in under 10 seconds. You can't even break the lumps with a spoon very well after that. Good luck consuming if you wait too long. The BEST way to consume this is get a 12 oz jam jar with a lid, put in 8 oz water, add the powder, close the lid, shake hard for two seconds and then chug it down fast, and I mean immediately! Don't stop to taste, sniff, enjoy the aroma or contemplate the mysteries of life. If you chug it fast, it goes down like slightly woody water and does its magic. Else you will have gummy globs sticking to your teeth. Good price and it does what I want it to and will definitely order it again.

Turns baked goods purple
I bought this for gluten free baking and tested it in a few different bread recipes. I mainly wanted structure and fiber without changing the look of the final loaf too much. Psyllium husk is a solid binder, but this is one of those brands that changes color when baked. The powder itself is very finely ground and easy to work with. It mixes into dough smoothly with no clumping and behaves like psyllium usually does. It thickens well and helps hold everything together. From a texture standpoint, the breads actually came out decent and held their shape. The downside is the color. Every loaf and roll I baked turned purple or grayish purple once it hit the oven. It is noticeable and honestly not very appetizing, especially if you are baking for other people. I have since learned that you need a lighter or blonde psyllium husk to avoid this, so that is on me, but it is still worth mentioning.

It’s ok but I prefer other brands
I needed to do something to help offset a GLP one constipation issue and psyllium husk was recommended to me. And they seem to have high reviews so I purchased it. For the amount you get it is a good value. I started with 1 teaspoon and worked my way up to 1 tablespoon twice a day. I knew going into this that it was not going to completely dissolve in water. However, it is a very large flake and it tends to clump together, no matter how much I mix or stir or how hot the water is. I ended up running it through a coffee grinder to make it smaller to be able to avoid the chunks. I have used the Metamucil brand and I have had really great results with that but with this, I can’t honestly say that I’ve had as great of results. I have actually started mixing this and the Metamucil for a better effect. Because the Metamucil has so much splendid in it it actually causes the opposite issue of constipation. But mixing the two together seems to work fine. I have not had any side effects or anything from it unless I do something stupid and try and take too much

Bad taste, weird colour
Has a muddy colour and taste. Tried the first serving and will not finish the rest. Bag does not reseal properly. Will never buy this brand again.
