saved my project
Probably the Amazon purchase of my life. I struggled so hard to try to get my step motor to work with my arduino uno R3 setup until I bought this, it does all the work. Thank you!! Be careful setting up the A4988, I accidentally put in backwards and it burnt

works
I use as a stepper motor tester/spare part....

Cheapo clone of quite reasonable quality
If you need a quick gcode setup, it's hard to beat these inexpensive Arduino GRBL setups. They are nowhere near the real one in quality, so if you're looking for excellence apply your search engine skills. If you're only looking for good-enough functionality, then this one works just fine.

Useful shield for controlling stepper motors
Really like this simple little shield now, but initially it was difficult to figure out, but it really is simple. The biggest problem I had was that the grbl software doesn't match the pins on my Arduino, so I mistakenly thought there was a problem with the shield, but proved it works with self made scripts.

Decent shield, but no micro stepping jumpers
I wish this came with Micro stepper drivers, but other than that it works well and is a decent shield.

I picked up this item about a month ago to set up a CNC project I had been eyeing for a while, and honestly, it’s been a pretty decent experience so far. Right out of the box, I was impressed with the build quality of the board and the stepper motor drivers. They felt sturdy, which is something I've found can vary with cheaper kits. I managed to assemble everything without too much hassle, so it’s definitely user-friendly, even for someone like me who's still got a bit to learn in this area. After getting everything set up, I started using it with my 3D printer and the performance has been surprisingly good. The motors have a nice range of motion and I’ve had minimal stuttering, which is a huge plus. The heatsinks worked well, keeping the drivers cool during longer jobs. However, I did notice that the documentation could be better—some steps felt a bit vague, and I had to do a bit of back-and-forth on forums to sort everything out. A few days in, I did have one of the drivers get a bit hot, but switching out the heatsink solved that issue. All in all, it’s almost exactly what I wanted and I'd say it's well worth the price. Pros: • Sturdy build quality • User-friendly setup • Good motor performance Cons: • Documentation is a bit lacking • One driver ran hot initially Overall: I recommend this product. I'm giving it a solid 4 stars because it met most of my expectations and overall, it performs well for the price. The minor issues I faced were manageable and don't overshadow the good experience I've had, so I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking to get into CNC or even for repairs on their 3D printers.
