tuff and strong
when I first started using this clay to make Ollas I had a really hard time with it because it has so much coarse grog but now that I have gotten used to it I wouldn't use anything else. It comes in very consistent but a little to dry I found that moistening it up a bit really makes it easier to work. Fire at 1652f and it makes very nice garden Ollas that weep water well

Decent clay
Pretty good clay but has a lot of grog. Fine for hand building. I would not use for throwing. It does fire well.

Easy to work with
Yeah, itโs got sand in it, but I think it is easy for a beginner to get a decent shape. It is sturdier than the clay I usually use (Sedona red) and isnโt as quick to collapse. The final texture will not be smooth, but it is intersting!

Temper-Mental
Temper-mentalโฆ get it? Lol Bought this clay to make ollas for my vegetable garden. I tried to throw one and boy did I get a quick lesson in friction! Lol So, I wound up making coil pots instead. Be aware that the grog is big and itโs a pain to smooth surfaces because it loves to roll over the surface as you go and leave scratches/trails. :/ If you intend to make figures this clay can be smoothed by water and paint brush - grabbing the sticky grog off the surfaces is still a pain but with much effort it can be done. For the purpose of making ollas it is perfect: cheap and sturdy. For anything else I say look elsewhere. Iโm sure the clay makers know that the grog can be ground down to smaller particles and still work. :)

Warning โ ๏ธ please read!
For the amount and price of clay I thought I struck a really great deal. Unfortunately the clay has WAY too much grog in it and I am unable to use it on the wheel because it cuts your hand. Can be used for sculpting although the elasticity is low and it dried out a little faster than I wanted it to.

Bad Batch
This clay is very short (low plasticity) and not easily manipulated due to too much grog and too quick drying. The bags of clay were not sealed but instead simply folded over (likely the reason). I've used this clay before without issue - simply a bad batch. 3/9 REVISED - Adjusting to 5-star due to Seller quickly responding and rectifying issue. Very professional, very attentive.

Most affordable clay for me
I do add a bit of sand but throws well right out of package. Shrinks about 25% air and another 5 bisque. Using kiln gas trash can and I get decent results considering. I do lose 20% to cracks but trash can kiln probably the culprit there. Will withstand raku if enough sand or other grog used.
