Heat Storm HS-1500-TRC Infrared Space, 8 ft Cord, Roll Cage + Heater

Best space heater I've ever used!! It keeps my room very warm and is easy to move around where you need it! Definitely recommend!

We started using this heater in November and it quit working in less than 45 days. We have been using this heater for about 2 hours a day 3 days a week. The switch went out on it within 30 days. We could no longer turn it off using the on off switch. It just stayed on as long as it was plugged in. We plugged it into a surge protector for the last couple weeks. Using the switch on the surge protector to turn the heater on and off. Finally yesterday on New Year’s Eve when we had guests over. It quit working when we needed it most. This is a total waste of money. Do not buy this. It heats decent but is poor quality and a waste of money

So this review does come from the perspective that this is exactly what I wanted, and these folks seem to be the only ones who make it. That is to say, an infrared heater, with a long cord, in a roll cage, that will work with a standard breaker and 120v outlet. This ticks all of those boxes, and is fairly sturdy, to boot. It also has a covered switch for better weatherproofing. I'm using this in the garage, and on the deck for outdoor gatherings. It's not excessively powerful, but you'll definitely feel it if you're within a few feet. For context, I'm using this in the northeast, and the garage gets quite cold in the winter. Pretty much a lifesaver if you like crawling on your back on a piece of cardboard to fix cars in the wintertime. Maybe I'm crazy, but I appreciate these fine people enabling me with this product.

So I’ve had/tried a few of these radiant heaters and I’ve found most of them to be grossly under powered, and not made to last. This unit however is a home run. The heat it puts off is respectable, and you can leave it on for long stretches and it won’t burn up. I am able to keep a 15’ x 15’ insulated garage room at 65 degrees no problem, with just this heater. Even when it’s -20 degrees outside, no problem. Nice job fellas. I’m getting another one here soon.

I liked it at first but after just three months of using it, it stopped working altogether. I contacted the manufacturer twice and haven’t heard anything back. Overall, the heat output was OK, but since it’s just radiant heat, it doesn’t really feel like it’s warming up the space very well. It takes quite a while before you really start to feel it although it does heat up very quickly. When it works that is.

This heater is well made and puts out a good amount of heat. It's easy to assemble onto the roll cage. We use it on our screened-in porch because we didn't have enough clearance in the ceiling for a standing propane heater. It is very portable, and easy to place where you want the heat. The cord is a decent length and allows us to aim the heat where we want it and away from the walls of our porch. The roll cage keeps it from tipping over. Two criticisms: first, there is no way to turn it on or off. It must be plugged in or unplugged. Second, beware of the dark-colored foam pieces that come attached to the outer grates presumably to protect the item in shipping. They were invisible to us until we plugged in the heater and then the acrid black smoke came spewing out from burning foam! Luckily the unit was outside when we plugged it in for that first time.

Great shop heater if you are stationary at a workbench or working on a car. My issue was that I had to be pretty close to it to feel the heat, otherwise I found myself moving back and forth between various projects and the heater. I'd hoped its infra-red capabilities would work to provide comfort from 10 - 15 feet away, but its more like 3 - 5 feet. The heater did raise the overall temperature in my shop by about 5-6 degrees over the course of 3 hours, so at least the power usage wasn't a complete waste. This does not function well in either capacity (radiant heat or space heater) but worked well enough to get a meh.

This heater kicks the competition in the nuts. Furrreaaal. I should know, cause this is attempt number friggin 14 on trying to find a good, well-built heater. Hot DAYUM. I dig it. Well built, easy to use (if you can't figure it out, there's coloring books in the corner, square). Stoked with this so I bought 2. We're gonna sweat like it's middle school gym class up in this bidness!

Beware of this product, it could start a fire, check pictures before you buy. Just contacted the manufacturer, will let everyone knows if they support me adequately to have this fire hazard product replaced for free!!

Works like it should , easy to move with the cage , great heat for a small area .

This unit is working in a horizontal position only....try to put it in a vertical one - to throw heat against somebody working standing up - nothing !!...., be aware of this !!!
