I actually preferred using this to mount my cabinets versus mounting the cabinets directly to wall. It makes it a one person job and you can slide the cabinets sideways to their perfect location.

The gear track channels are very easy to install by drilling a screw into a stud. The best feature of the gear track is the simplicity of adding hooks wherever you want them, as when you decide to change where you are hanging your tools, you easily slide it over or swap it out. As you can see from the pictures, gear track can hold heavy items like gas powered tools or lighter tools like smaller hand tools. A simple solution to hanging everything is to drill a hole in the handle, add two zip strips to make the top zip strip perpendicular to the hook, and the tools are easily removed from the hooks and replaced onto the hooks. The individual hooks can be pricy, but be assured, you will not be disappointed in your purchase. Make sure you buy the box of eight standard hooks as a starter set.

The GearTrack is probably the most integral part of the Gladiator Garage system. For the most part, it functions exactly as advertised. It's important (obviously) to make sure they're quite level when installed, and I'd recommend that you insure they are firmly mounted into at least 3 studs for maximum support strength. Once that's been done, they can hold an impressive amount of weight without distortion of the tracks. I've mounted 2 cabinets with a weight of 30-40 lbs each (loaded with tools) plus a plethora of tools including a fairly heavy ladder onto the various available hooks, and the tracks have remained firmly attached to the wall. Other pros: 1) they look nice, especially with the end caps installed 2) many available hanging options, including the overpriced (but useful) bottle opener Cons: 1) fairly expensive (both tracks and accessories) 2) some puzzling choices in the hanging options--there's one to fit almost any application, but more than a few that aren't very useful (I highly recommend checking these out in a brick/mortar venue and not buying online) 3) cutting them to smaller sizes (48" is standard length) could seriously degrade their ability to hold...well, anything

Wow, this is just what I needed. It was super simple to through up on the wall and it allowed me to hang up just about everything I had laying around in my garage. There might be some hope yet for getting my car back into the garage. It seems well made. It's a solid piece of some kind or hard plastics. It has a bit of weight to it despite being plastic. Despite being so solid, it's surprisingly easy to cut through and drill holes into which make it a pleasure to work with. I bought the GearTrack and GearWall Garage Hook Accessory Kit 2 which is way more than what it necessary for just these two 4 feet tracks, so I also bought 96 in. W Garage Wall Storage GearWall Panel (2-Pack) as well. I do wish the accessories weren't so pricey, but I suppose this is how they get you.
