"“Amir” is released on the 19th October via Communion Records. It was produced by PJ Maertens and Jo Francken, and recorded at Maertens’ house in Belgium and at Audiworkx Studios in Holland. Of Belgian, Egyptian and Lebanese heritage the 21-year-old musician has written and shaped an album of startling, visceral, sit-up-and-listen power. “Amir” features a handful of tracks from his debut EP, “Habibi” including Indigo Night which features Radiohead’s Colin Greenwood on bass guitar. Although the majority of the playing heard on “Amir” is Tamino himself, he is joined by a collective of Arabic musicians based in Brussels called “Nagham Zikrayat”. The Firka (orchestra) is predominantly made up of professional musicians from the Middle East, most of which have refugee status having predominantly fled from Iraq and Syria. Over the course of “Amir”, Tamino captures a range of emotions from romance to desolation, and almost everything in between. It’s mood music, painted in a number of different shades. Tamino: “Some of the songs on “Amir” are more on the romantic side, whilst others are more on the apathetic side. In my own life, I can look at the world and at life in both ways depending on my state of being. The conflict creates an imbalance. “Amir” is about balance”" Review: Entrancing songs - I make a point of buying the albums that really resonate with me on vinyl where possible, and having discovered Tamino on a late-night lockdown internet rabbit hole, I needed the record. Beautiful songs, perfect for those of us who love a bit of melancholy and longing in our summer music. The inclusion of Middle Eastern orchestral music really makes this something special, and I'm so pleased to have it. The only downside I have found is that Tamino's falsetto gets a bit distorted on the record, whereas he sounds perfectly clear on Spotify. Perhaps it is just my fairly inexpensive record player though. Review: Outstanding album - Discovered Tamino as support act of Lana Del Rey and immediately fell in love with his talent and live performance ability. The record has been in my player since and it's pretty much all I am listening to since a few weeks now

Unmissable
What a marvellous voice. The music is wonderful and almost hauntingly hypnotic. One of the best accidental discoveries I’ve ever had. Absolutely brilliant. I cannot wait for the next album!

Wow.
What a voice; gives me chills every time I hear him sing. Can't wait to see what 2019 has lined up for Tamino! I'm a fan! <3

Haunting melodies and assured performance
such a relief from the herd of one-line lyrics and bass boom in the mass market. A hint of Leonard Cohen and some great middle-eastern musical influences.

Beautiful, captivating album. The middle Eastern touches, excellent songs, mysterious lyrics and soothing voice make this album stand out. A gem of an artist to be discovered.
