All the reviews/description for the black Kongs always say that they are good for aggressive chewers. While this is completely true, they never mention how they are for the self-soothing chewers. These are amazing for the mouthy dogs. We have several aggressive chewers and one that chews when he's nervous. He can break tiny pieces off the "normal" Kongs, but these just bounce back. I am not sure what he would do without them, but I am positive he would find something to destroy. We purchase them from time to time, not because there are quality issues, but because I feel they should be replaced after the 500th time in the dishwasher. It's completely a "me" problem.

Me and my husband got our dog 2 years ago and he is a mix bread and an aggressive chewer those who know, know that you go through so many toys to find one that can last 20 min let alone an hour. Let me tell you I swear by Kong toys, now that me and my husband just buy Kong toys our dog now has 6 Kongs that are lasting him months and he is able to enjoy them longer. Definitely make sure if you have a larger dog to get either the large Kong of the XXL Kong, we have done both sizes and our dog is about 90 pounds and is very active player when it comes to his balls. Also make sure to read the dimensions before you buy any of the kongs we have bought one thinking it was one size and was really a different size that was really our fault. I would advise to not buy the small or medium Kong for dogs that are larger as those two may be a bit too small for them to chew on. If I could give Kong more than 5 🌟 I would.

I got the Extreme Kong (black), because my rat terrier had already torn apart a Classic Kong (red). He goes through plush squeaky toys in no time flat. He has chewed pieces out of one Extreme Kong, but not the other two. What have I learned to keep him from shredding Kongs? 1) Always supervise your dog with this toy (at least until you know how well it will hold up). Yes, the instructions say this. It's not just CYA legal BS. Until you know for SURE that *your* dog can't chew through the Extreme Kong, don't leave him unattended with this toy. (Unfortunately, this means that I can't give it to him in his kennel to alleviate boredom when I leave the house.) 2) If your dog has already destroyed other toys, consider sizing up from the "recommended" size. My dog weighs 25 lb, which is solidly in the "medium" range, but the Large Kong is better for his extreme chewing. The Extreme Kong he tore apart was a Medium. He hasn't managed to tear apart the Large yet. 3) Don't fill it all the way with peanut butter. Stuff the bottom 1/2 - 2/3 with dry food or treats and the clog the top 1/3 or so with something soft like peanut butter. If you fill the whole thing with something that's impossible to get out without tearing the toy apart, your dog will tear the toy apart. 4) Wash it on a regular basis. I have more than one Kong so I can still use one while the other is being washed. I like to soak mine in warm, soapy water for a few hours before sticking it in the dishwasher. This seems to get it clean even if there's peanut butter in the crevices. Dried on cheese can be a bit harder to clean out (I use the pointy end of a spoon or even a toothbrush to get at those bits). 5) If you notice your Kong is showing wear, replace it. Once it starts to give, your extreme chewer can destroy it pretty fast. Don't let him get that far! No toy is indestructible, but the Extreme Kong lasts longer than anything else I've found. Read the insert that comes with your Kong and follow the recommendations to keep your dog safe and entertained.

I have two 95 lb dogs. The Kong are their favorites. The only issue I have is they smell like rubber. I wash them after every use inside & out. But the dogs don’t mind and they hold up to their chewing. It was worth the purchase.

Dogs enjoy the Kongs more than I expected. Hours of chewing, carry around, and licking kibble & peanut butter placed inside. Easily cleaned with hot soapy water and an old tooth brush.

J'ai un staffie... Genre de petit destructeur sur patte ! Et les faux Kong duraient une journée... Et j'ai fini par investir dans du vrai....en noir.... Et c'est génial.... J'en ai 4. Je les fourent avec des croquettes humides une petite friandise et généralement quelques restes de l'assiette de ses minis humains. Un tour au congélateur et c'est parfait pour le lendemain quand je m'absente.... Ça l'occupe et il en est fou... D'ailleurs il le sait quand on se prépare il attend au pied du congélateur
