Great latch.
This thing is great. Pretty easy to install. The biggest issue being that the latch doesn't STAY very well. A simple screw by the company would have fixed this. But I put my own in and never even noticed it. Other than that it was easy to install and easy to use. Been looking for something like this for a couple of years really.

Very pretty, not so secure
These 2 sided gate latches are very attractive and convenient. My biggest qualm is that there is nothing really holding the latch on the inside down, so you have to be extra careful if you have little ones or dogs. I would recommend an additional one-sided lock for security. We also had to buy new 4" spindles as the ones in the packaging were about a half inch too short for our gate (2x4 frame w/standard pickets).

Heavy and looks great. Damaged in shipping and screws are lousy
Mine was a bit banged up in shipping, with the coating chipped, so it might not last as long as it would otherwise. Installation is easy, BUT I didn't follow the order of the instructions. Determine the height you want the thumb latch... still your holes at that height... install the front plate and ensure the latch is fully inserted per the instructions (folks saying the thumb latch falls out did this part wrong)... install the piece on the back of the gate... then install the catch that goes on the post. Done. THE THUMB LATCH DOES NOT FALL OUT if you install it properly. I found I needed a drill bit extender to put the screws in... and that the screws were very soft and chewed up really easily. Minus one star for being damaged and minus one for the screws

This works on a double gate.
I built a double gate and was looking for a latch that would work. This one did the job. It's well built. Just make sure all measurements are done correctly before installation and you shouldn't have a problem.

Overall happy
I had no troubles installing on two gates with jigsaw, 1/2” drill bit. I would recommend pilot holes for the screws also. I love being able to open and close both gates from both sides. The only thing I don’t like is the thumb level on the exterior has the potential to be removed with zero effort. Needs a way to stay secure.

Great product and good quality
The wind blew my vinyl gate shut and split a whole in the gate. This lock worked perfectly to cover the whole and saved me a bundle on replacing the gate. Great product.

The item is very solid and sturdy. Good quality and will not 'bend' if the door slams. Would recommend and very easy to install.

Feels sturdy and good quality, installation easy and the latch does slide sideways to “lock” the gate as well so it can’t be opened from the front. Really great feature missing from some others. Very happy

I didn't have most of the other issues others are saying but I do agree with using a pin or a screw to keep the thumb lever from falling out just incase I give it 5 stars for value! Do read all the other reviews as it will depend on your situation but for the price including delivery its great! Just be expected to do some DIY adjustments
