Godox BD-04 Barn Door & Honeycomb Grid &4 Color Gel Filters Compatible for Standard Reflectors Accessories kit

The barndoors are very sturdy, heavy-duty and fit reasonably well on standard 7" diameter reflectors. The "gel frames" are odd, I am far more familiar with the standard theatrical type of frame that sandwiches a sheet of Rosco or Lee media, but these supplied will do, I suppose. The grids are okay, lacking only a "pull tab" to facilitate removal, but for the price... Overall for the price paid, I am actually quite happy. They shipped quickly and were well packed.

My use for these is studio portraiture. I like that the barn doors are metal, well made and do their job well as a light shaping tool. I also like that they come with high quality gels/gel holders and a grid. But, what I like about this is that they are almost universal since they mount at the end of any 7" rolled lip reflector. I can use the same barndoors on my Buff lights, my Godox lights or my Bogen mount lights all without modification. The gels are set in metal frames that attach to the barn doors with slide in brackets at the bottom and magnets at the top. This is very secure and a snap to install or remove. The grid is plastic but well made. If one thing could be better it would be to have put a removal pull tab on the grid. As it is, the barn doors need to be removed from the light in order to push the grid out. Not a big deal. I recommend this barn door kit enthusiastically.

I want to shape some light a bit so a Fresnel and barn doors. I don't need the jells or the honeycomb, just the barn doors. My Fresnel has a 7" ring and this fits it perfectly. I like the wire attachment, it seems pretty secure but loose enough to rotate without moving the helicoid on my fresnel. The bad news for me is that the Bowen mount on my cheap light really stinks and the Fresnel is heavier than the light. My solution is I'm going to run a safety cable through the barn door plate so if the Fresnel falls out of my Bowen mount it won't fall on anyone's head. So the Barn Doors are helping with safety too. This was the cheapest option on Amazon and it's doing everything I want and more. Maybe someday I'll use the jells or the honeycomb but until then I just need basic and this does basic very well. I gave it 4 stars for sturdiness, not because there is anything wrong with it but you could bend it pretty easily if you set something heavy on top of it. In use it is going to be fine unless you drop it and the light it is on. Maybe look for something sturdier if you are gigging with it or if your lighting techs will treat it like rental gear. If you are going to set it and forget it or treat it nicely it looks like it should last for quite a while.

Some light get spilled of you close too much the barn doors because there's too much space, also since it doesn't fully attach itself to the reflector some light spills there too. A bit touchy I know but keep this in mind if you're trying to fully control the light, but overall the gel filters and the honeycomb works fine. Also the construction seems hard enough.

excellent barn doors for those on a tight budget

Budget barn doors with magnetic gel filters. Does what it needs to do for a fraction of the price. Gel filters are easy to snap on and off. Installing the bardoors was easy and works on standard reflectors. Honeycomb pops the hole so you can use the Honeycomb with the gel filters as well.

I’d been looking at more expensive modifiers for my bowens mount lights and then I remembered… why not just some simple barn doors and grids. They’re amazing! For the price, everyone should have them in their kit. They help you shape light, they’d cost next to nothing, and they are really easy to setup, they just clamp on. If you’re thinking about it, go buy a set.

I was going to buy 4 of this, but my wife tell me to buy one and proved. Ohhh she was right: it have leaks of light, the gels are not that strong (maybe i dont now how to used properly)... the clients liked, make the light look more pro.

Rien a voir avec des barndoor aputure ou autre... mais dait le taf, s adapte bien, petit et leger. Du semi pro pas cher Laisse un peu passer la lumière et ne permets pas de vrai faisceaux lumineux. Mais pour le prix c edt ok quand même

Muy buena calidad de construcción. Accesorio imprescindible para evitar luces no deseadas. En conjunto con una lente fresnel y el panal de abeja incluido permite un contraluz o luz puntual impecable.

Deze barn doors zijn ok maar niet top, de sluiting tegen de lamp aan is niet voorzien van een afsluitrand en laat vrij veel licht door. Eigenlijk zou je die telkens moeten aftapen. De grid is ok.
