Anne's Kindred Spirits: Inspired by Anne of Green Gables (An Anne Chapter Book)

We own both this book and the prior book "Anne Arrives". They are two of my 2.5 year olds favorite books. She loves books and has a good attention span for reading and this series is one of the few I have found to meet the following criteria: 1) lots of beautiful illustrations to keep her interest, 2) a good amount of story so we can read for longer or over several evenings 3) a positive story that isn't too complex but still uses good vocabulary. I grew up loving Anne as well so the nostalgia factor is big. I think as she grows up and is beginning to read on her own these will be perfect for that as well. I strongly recommend you get Anne Arrives in addition to this one as it lays the foundation of the Anne of Green Gables.

Bought this and another book in the series for an 8-year-old girl. Love the quality and illustrations, not to mention Anne (with an E) and her kindness, spunk, and adventures with her bosom friend. Plan to buy more for my own daughter when she can read.

We love love love these books! I read them aloud to my 6yo daughter and my 8yo who is at about a 2nd grade reading level loves them too. It's just the right amount of difficulty for her. It's never too early to fall in love with Anne with an E, imo. The illustrations are darling! Can't wait for the rest!

Anne of Green Gables was one of my favorite series growing up, and now I get to share these with my daughter. These books were perfect for a read aloud with my 5 year old. The illustrations were wonderful, and the chapters are short enough to read 2-3 per night before bed! I can't wait for more to be published!

I love this series of Anne books! They are wonderful read-alouds with my five-year-old, and I am so excited to share the Green Gables stories with her earlier than I could the full-length original book. The illustrations by Abigail Halpin take these to the next level, though--warm and charming. Such a pleasure to read and look at together. I will definitely keep up with the whole series as it's released!

As an Anne Shirley fan from way back, I was nervous and excited for this book. I absolutely adored it and my Kindergartener declared this the best book of Kindergarten. The illustrations are wonderful and this book stays true. I think L.M. Montgomery would approve.

Love it! Love the art, and that it’s just a bit longer than a typical picture book. I still read it I one sitting to my 4yo (not that I would read the whole thing every time).

My 5 year old and I are big fans of Anne and are looking forward to more installments of this series, which is suitable as a bedtime read to share with s young vhikd and yet retains much of the detail and charm of the original.
