When delivered, it doesn't look like it's all there, just two packages. Open it all up an you will find that a lot of the parts are zipped in the headboard. It's sturdier than you expect from a wooden frame, mainly due to the bits of metal screwed into it which interlock and the screws into the metal frame in the headboard. As long as you take your time and read the instructions, it will be easy. Saying that, I stumbled on a couple of steps and had a couple parts left at the end... there are two bars which you need when connecting the gas pistons to the bed frame .... if you find that you the part that the mattress will eventually sit on seems to be a bit too short and you really need to work at getting the two gas pistons to connect to that bed support, I suggest you check that you have used the metal support between the piston and the frame of the bed... if you have used it, the top of the bed frame will fit easily. It can be built by one person with the occasional hand from someone else ... I had a 6 year old helping me and we put it together with no problems .... although we did take more than 1.5 hours as we were treating it as a holiday activity and life lesson in DIY. You really have to press down hard on the bed to get the "lid" to close, it almost feels like its going to break... you can unconnect one of the pistons which halves the pressure needed, and open and close it a few times to loosen it up a bit and then do the same for the other side... after a few weeks, it has loosened up a bit and is now just stiff rather than glued stuck and much more usuable. As a bed, it's lower than my old frame by 3 inches so I'm sitting lower than I'm used to... it also reduces the storage but this is all subjective and dependant on what your current bed is like. It does hold a fair amount of stuff inside and has freed up a lot of space in my room. I don't think a child would be able to open and close this easily but as an adult I think that this is a very good buy. I cannot comment as to the longevity of the bed because I've only had it a few weeks but it feels fairly solid.

Just bought and st up the other week. Instructions are almost perfect but did miss out the metal bars which you need to add first to the ends before you mount the base to the bed but no big deal. The pneumatic springs are stiff to say the least. Daughter sitting right in the middle and still would not go down. I have to go upstairs and put it back down for her each time. If you only push down in the middle it really bends badly so you have to spread out your hands to as close the ends as possible then push down. I am sure it will get slacker over time which is better than it just falling down all the time I suppose but if you are heavy then maybe you could just sit on the side of the bed and it would go down. Daughter is only 10 so not much too her. So despite a little effort in assembly and the bed being actually quite an effort to put back down it is overall very good for the money, looks very stylish in her room and has added a lot of neat storage she is now using.

It’s a great bed and the storage space is so useful. Flat pack usually doesn’t defeat me but I found this one challenging, hence the missing star on my review. However, I managed it on my own taking time out when I got frustrated with it. Instructions are ok but not brilliant and I had to flick through the later steps to check I’d interpreted them correctly! It was a little more complicated as I wanted it to lift from the other side but I got there in the end. It was packed well, no damage in transit and all the hardware was in a sealed pack which worked well. The initial movement of the lift was astronomically difficult but beats going to the gym. It seems easier to lift now the mattress is on it and it’s been used a few times, but still a lot of power needed to push it down again. I’m sure that will get even easier with more use. The bed itself looks really nice and seems very well made. I would buy one again for sure and probably be much better at building it a second time.

So easy to put up,good quality and very sturdy

Brought for my daughter and she loves it. It is a very good quality bed and looks really nice. The only reason I have given three stars is purely because it was a bloody pain to put together, you need two people to do it and its very heavy! you need the strength of hulk to move it around the room. also the hydraulic lift was a pain to put together. a drill will be needed to put the bed together. but once its all done it does look really nice and is worth the sweat and tears! good value for money and also good to strengthen your arms!

A high-quality mattress that is extremely comfortable for sleeping.

Once the bed was made after the instructions were terrible and took 3 hours! We have noticed some rust that has been painted over. It was a pain in the bum to make so just gonna make do for now otherwise I’d of sent it back but my daughter had no bed for days.

So this arrived today - and I put it together in about three hours ......pretty straightforward - easy to follow instructions - all good so far - I quite like the design - and for the cost its pretty good quality too. Value for money - sturdy - pleased so far.
