Better than expected!! Great Addition to our Explorer 3X!!
I am very pleased with this add on. Well built and heavy grates that leave great grill marks and gives me that Char I was looking for. Hot Fast!! 500+ degrees in no time. It cleans up fast and is about as portable as a grill can be. This piece along with the Griddle that came with the stove is just the whole package. The only issue I see is that there is no method to handle grease... Normally I cook pretty lean meat but I will doing Wally World burgers today for a group and I am concerned what it is going to do. We will see.

Best invention ever
Bought this for my Camp Chef Pro 90X 3 burner stove to keep the grease and mess of cooking down. I cannot believe how good my food tastes now. With the smoke flavor and temperature gauge that lets me know how hot the box is, my food has never tasted better. Have cooked steaks, hamburgers, chicken breasts, pork chops, brats. The meats are more juicy and much better flavorful than ever. I now cook on this more than my in-house stove. I love this grill box! I have the 2 burner box and it sits perfectly inside the framework of the camp chef. I have not tried using the wind screen with it, but I don’t expect any problems. Comes pre-seasoned out of the box.

Excellent Addition to Any Camp Chef Stove
I've used this a few times and really like it. I've read a lot of reviews where people complain about the metal overheating and warping or even becoming "red hot." When you use this, keep in mind that most, if not all, Camp Chef stoves get *really* hot. My recommendation is that you use the knob that comes with the stove and turn the heat down to avoid damaging your grill box. Of course, if you prefer to grill food over a raging volcano, go for it. When using the grill box on medium to medium high heat, the cast iron grate gets hot enough for food to sizzled when it's placed on the cast iron. When I cooked four boxes of Bubba Burgers on the grill, which are fairly greasy, only a few drops of grease made it through the temperature vent holes. I've also used wood chips in the grill box, and it works really well with them too. The grill box retains heat fairly well with the lid closed, but it does not retain heat exactly the same as a gas grill when you open the lid. The cast iron plates hold the heat OK, but if you are doing something like grilled pizza, be prepared to practice a few times, especially if you are used to making pizza on a traditional gas grill. This type of variance is to be expected, however, as this is a stove attachment and not a traditional gas grill.

Great little grill box with a few exceptions
First off, I am very happy with my purchase. The heat is pretty even across the entire surface (a little less heat in the 4 corners of the box, but that is expected because the burners are located in the center of the grill box). A few things to note: -Thermometer: After I am done grilling, I cook off the excess grease/food before I clean the grill surface. The grease fire cooked the box to such extreme that the thermometer spring was bent in the mechanism. Now the room temperature is showing to be 180 degrees. If you like to burn off the food before cleaning, remove the thermometer (its real easy to do). The thermometer is working but is off by 120 degrees or so now. This is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5 (if i could, i would give it 4.5 stars). -Keep the box oiled: Spray with cooking oil to prevent rust. I lightly spray Pam for Grilling all over the grilling surface and the bottom of the box before I put it in the storage bag. So far, so good! At the end of the season clean the box thoroughly and then apply a high temperature spray paint to the bottom surface of the box (not the cast iron cooking grates, duh). I must stress a high temperature spray paint meant to withstand temperatures in excess of 1500 degrees. If you do this, this will prevent rust damage to the box and will extend its operating life. When its time to break the box out again for grilling, be sure to remember to cook off the paint fumes before putting food on there to avoid a steak from tasting like spray paint! -Do not cook on Hi: The box is not meant for 30k BTU's per burner exposed directly on the bottom of the box. Medium is still plenty hot to grill things at a fast rate. (In fact I rarely grill higher than low anyways) -Buy the cover carrying case: Its great because it not only does it make it easy to carry and transport but it makes storage in the garage easy because there is no mess from burned food material flaking off all over your clean floor. If you follow this advice, you cant go wrong with this product. Like I said the heat distribution is very even compared to other grills i have tried. Generic Grilling Advice: Dont be hasty with grilling, it takes time and patience before the food is cooked properly no matter what grilling equipment you have. The worst thing is to jump the gun and try to cook fast, only to find out that your food is not just burned on the outside but undercooked on the inside.

Versatile, and big enough to replace the average gas grill, leaving one burner open to use.
I have a single burner one, and one of these double ones came as part of the package for the "big gas grill" that I gave my niece and her family after their typical gas grill crapped out and rusted out all at once. After seeing theirs in action, cooking a couple of racks of ribs at once, I ended up ordering my own, to be used on a Pro-90 that I've had for a few years now. Camp Chef has a great product here, transforming a high-heat stove into all of the grill space you could ask for, taking up two burners on a 3 burner stove. I wonder if they'll eventually make one of these that would cover all 3 burners. Now that would let a person really do some backyard grilling for a really big crowd. Such a crowd should bring their own beer though :) .

well made and sturdy.
well built and works well. With the fire bans this summer, it got USED! Does a great job of cooking and is fairly even heat across the grill. Because it covers two burners you can have a hot and cold side which can be handy in some cooking situations. Keep stuff warm while cooking off other meal components. I have a 3 burner stove so still have one free to boil pots, etc. Really pleased with this grill.

so far so good
Have used it once so far....was deciding between the 1 burner size and 2 burner size...glad I got the 2 burner size..still leaves third burner avail for something else if needed....seems to allow heat thru equally almost all over....I only had the burners on med-low and it seemed hot enough for my needs....I noticed that I had to take the wind guard off the camp stove in order to get the grill lid to stay open on its own..but so far I really like it

Supper time!!
Works well. Enough room to grill for a family of 5 without problems. Works great with the 3 burner stove and even room for a big pot to cook corn on the side when in use. Heavy construction, and appears good quality. Grates are also sturdy, but tricky to clean. Impressed. Great buy for the stove, which was the best camping $$$’s spent

Versatile and Perfect!
We bought this accessory for our 3 burner Expedition. It has turned the high output grill into a traditional gas BBQ. It fits snuggly and keeps the temp anywhere from 220° to 500°. The high temp vaporizes drippings on the diffuser plate, turning it to ash. It distributes the heat nicely. By adding a single burner cast iron griddle on the remaining burner, we've totally eliminated flame out from wind. The thinner gauge of the metal on the lid does impact the inside temp in cold wind, but try adjusting the airflow damper on the burner. Allow more airflow for a fatter, cooler flame, or reduce for a tighter, hotter flame. We love this accessory for home and camping! This has eliminated our need to buy an additional gas grill for home and portable grill for camping. It's all-in-one!
