07-28-2020 Update: Govee customer support responded and indeed the product was still under the 1 year warranty. They asked for pictures of the issues anda fgew hours later sent an email confirming a replacement was being shipped to me. I received the replacement today and installed it a few moments ago and everything is working perfectly. Colors and brightness are the same good quality as the first one I purchased. Definitely recommend the product since they also have good customer service. These LED light strips are good for the price. They are super bright and have different color options (you can even create custom colors). It was easy to install to the back of my Ikea desk and stuck very well to it. I would give them 5 stars if it weren't for the durability of these LED strips. After approximately 10 month (not using them every day) some lights don't produce the correct color or simply don't light up with certain color options. I have tried disconnecting them, changed colors on the remote control and turning them on and off but the issue still persists. Please see attached photos for reference. I have contacted them by email to see if Govee replaces them since they are still under the 1 year warranty period. I will update this review if I receive a response from them.

I bought two and the color is phenomenal. I put the first one on my gamer room wall with ease, the silicon held, I put it up with no issues whatsoever and it looks fantastic! The second one, however, did not go up so easily. As I was hanging it up, I noticed it wasn’t sticking whatsoever. Come to find out, the silicone had come off with the paper and it was a nightmare to put back on and rehang it. Even with being as gentle as possible and having it lined up decently perfect with the strip, it kept hanging down. My boyfriend thankfully had some silicone to put on the back it and it hung up fine afterwards. Plug it to admire the handiwork, and a quarter of it doesn’t even light up. All the hard wrk and frustration for nothing. I’m giving it a 3 star because the quality is there, it’s bright and beautiful, but it doesn’t seem like it’s ALL the same quality. I got one good one and a bad one. **UPDATE** They reached out to me and replaced the damaged one, completely free of charge. The whole strip worked with no issues whatsoever, and the Customer Service team was absolutely hands down, the friendliest team I have ever had to deal with, with product issues/concerns!

So this is the second Govee LED strip set I have purchased in the last 18 months. The first one was the same as this but had the smart functionality. I recently changed my desk set up so I wanted another strip for ambient back lighting on the wall. Since I rarely used the smart functions of the other strip, I went with the basic one. I mounted the controller within arms reach under my desk so I can quickly and easily adjust brightness, color, and power on/off. I am very content with Govee's products, and I believe this LED strip is the 5th or 6th Govee purchase I have made. I do not regret a single one of them. These strips have acceptable LED density (pretty average if not whats pretty much seeming to be the industry standard for consumer RGB strips) and great color production. I will likely be buying another set to add some more ambient lighting behind my bed headboard since these are pretty affordable. A few years ago I had bought some much cheaper RGB strips from not-so-well-known companies, and they didnt have a silicone waterproof coating (which is unnecessary indoors, but, in my opinion it helps with the diffusion and spread of the lighting and feels of better quality vs non sealed strips), they had very cheap crappy on board controllers, horrible IR remotes, were a pain to mount, had much too strong adhesive so when removed tore paint off the walls, and lastly the color was not as accurate or pleasing to the eyes as Govee products seem to be. For the money, I would say quality both in lighting and construction are not going to be beat, and the lighting accuracy is on point. While you cant change individual LEDs on the strip or enjoy any motion effects such as the smart strips, these do a great great job adding some mood for an affordable price. 8.5/10 would definitely recommend!

This LED light is pretty decent for the price, and certainly fulfills its role as intended. Brightness: Has multiple levels of brightness adjustment you can choose from, so you can have it somewhat dim, or very bright. Quality of strip: The light strip itself is based on a clear plastic mold that shows all of the circuitry of the flat strip below it. It's fairly study, but just note that if you plan to bend it, you'd have to be a bit careful as there are some connectivity issues I've run into, as it's not a singular conductivity strip, but broken down into numerous sections, as as you bend the different parts of the strip, there are sections that if bent in the wrong direction, parts of the lights behind that section just turns off, and I had to redo them so they'd turn back on. A bit sensitive. Remote: The remote is nice, and provides a wide variety of different colors and shades of colors that you can just from, and some basic programming for the lighting function. Nothing extravagant, and no timer unfortunately as far as I can tell, but still good for the price. Adhesive: It's quite sticky, but just be aware that you don't peel off the back of the strip with the sticky on it. Took me a couple of tries before I could strip just the outer tape of the sticky parts. Final verdict: Overall, you get what you paid for, and because of the price, it's certainly a nicely made product all things considered. One downside is that it actually took a second purchase to get a fully functioning light, as the first one didn't even have the sticky part on the strip, and also the remote barely even worked, so quality control may be hit or miss out of the box. However, once you get one that is functioning as intended, it's a nice product for a great price, and I would recommend it for anybody who needs LED lighting for a display case, or purchase multiples for something much larger if you purchase multiples of these, though, I'm not sure about the universality of the remote functions for multiple pairings at the same time for one remote if that were the case.

I loved this product in my room. I am 13 years old and a big computer user. I wanted to brighten the mood with a little light, so I bought these (With parent's permission, of course!) Here's what I have to say: For rooms and lighting, you should get ones with longer strips. These are short and meant for small uses. They sat on my desk just fine, but the adhesive is harder to use. There is a ripple in these strip lights so they don't stay flat. Also, the paper is very hard to peel off. If the seller reads this, maybe make it so you can take off the paper in sections so you don't have one huge roll. However, they work great other than that! The manual says you have to knot the bends especially, but I didn't use the included clips and it worked just fine! Remote was extremely easy to use and the manual was very descriptive! Pros: - Easy to apply. I made this work in 10 minutes - Very bright! I can see the colors well. - The remote has some awesome features (That are easy to use too!) - The color cycle mode is awesome! - Inexpensive (AKA feel free to raise the price by a few bucks ;) Cons: - The adhesive isn't very easy to apply, but that was the hardest part - No blacklight mode - The cover to the remote isn't stuck on very well, meaning it's easy to peel the buttons off of the remote. - Lights look ugly so make sure to put them under the counter where nobody will see them ;) Awesome product overall. Good buy for the cheap price!

I wish I bought this product sooner! Definitely makes your room pop with color! I recently built a gaming/work rig and wanted my desk to match! I installed all 16.4ft of RGB strips underneath my desk and boy does it look amazing. Lighting: With 6 adjustable brightness levels, I'd say these are pretty bright. There are over 16 different colors you can choose from on the remote with about 4 different lighting modes. You are also given 6 different programmable user settings of which I haven't used any (read remote section) Installation: Getting the loops down was a bit of a struggle but that's more of a user error. Govee provides semi-easy instructions on how to get loops down but you might want to toy around with it a bit. The adhesive works great, no problems yet (been installed for 2 weeks now). Slight remote issues: The distance between my bed and the desk? 6 ft. I'd say 7 out of 10 times, I'll have to move at least a few inches closer to the desk in order to change the color or power on/off the LED strip. It's an inconvenience but I typically keep it the same color and change it once a day.

I used these lights to create an ambient lighting set up around my bed. They look great! I have tried out similar products from a couple different sellers and Govee's are pretty much the best out there because of their excellent quality and ESPECIALLY their awesome service. I am so glad I chose Govee because the lights I received had some issues. They were not working for the entire length as they should have been. It happens sometimes. It could have happened with any manufacturer-- just a risk of this type of product. But because I had purchased Govee's lights, I contacted them and they troubleshooted the issue and determined that a replacement was in order. They quickly sent me a new set of lights without any further hassles. Few other sellers would stand by their products and offer to fix the situation so quickly. Govee makes a great product. Better than many others I have experienced. And for a lower cost! And as an added bonus, the company supports their products and are more than willing to replace your products if you have issues. Definitely choose Govee for solid quality, low price, and an awesome support team!

I got these lights on a whim before I installed a new water feature in an alcove beside my front door. I had considered using front-lighting from an LED landscape light, but had seen some of these advertised & decided to give it a try. The adhesive was extremely strong. I cleaned all surfaces w/ rubbing alcohol and they strips are attached very solidly. I don't know if they will relax & come off after some weather but so far at 2 months or so it's great. The lights can be programmed for virtually any color you want mixing the Red/Green/Blue values on the remote, or you can just one one of the many presets (I used a cobalt blue and it's perfect). My power supply died after just a couple of weeks but to be fair it could have gotten wet from some back spray off the fountain on a windy day. Regardless Govee support was fantastic and responded next day and I had a full replacement in about 4 days after submitting my request. Highly recommend these lights.
