I am an adult, i do a lot of illustration. however, i however i have been experiencing neck pain. is this suitable for an adult?

I hope so. My daughter in college uses it and loves it. Hope you feel better!

Will my notebook slide down the slope or is the wood rough enough to hold it in place please?

There is a clear plastic raised edge attached along the bottom of the board to keep papers and books from sliding off.

Seller: is this stand really only 13 by 13 when the ad shows two sheets of paper side by side which would be at least 16 in?

Yes, it is 13x13 inches. I like the size because it leaves room on my desk to have ink and other supplies within reach.
