Slow smothering and melodramatic vocals and rythyms from opening bar of first track--"Samba da Bencao".Tempo overwhelms and becalms simultaneously.Just feeling its cool chill listening in car with rain teeming around.A Must ::yes!..To die for ::no!

Bossa Nova is one of the more understated types of South American music. It's never really taken off to the huge extent that Samba, Balero or Tango-music has. Bebel Gilberto's Tanto Tempo reflects this. It's laid back, relaxing, but wonderfully rhythmic and full of subtle melodies. Her voice is lovely. It also sounds very modern, yet somehow you get the feeling that it won't sound out of date in ten/fifteen/twenty years time. I think this might possibly be one of my favorite records of all time.You'll love it if... you like bossa nova, think that the rhythms of most modern music are too fast, you like laid back stuff, you like beautiful soft melodies and don't mind listening to music that isn't sung in English (if you do then learn Potuguese!)

Met all expectations

The whole cd is heaven. Bebel’s voice is so smoove, it’s like a melodic sigh. Slide the cd in the player, sit outside with a cool drink, and let your mind wander. Wander back to the good old days when summer meant roller skates and crushes on boys, cold bottles of strawberry Crush and MAD magazine, skateboards and lying in the grass, staring at clouds, when that first kiss comes and you end up making out for two hours past curfew while your mom is screaming your name but Bill T. (your crush), has you in his arms and you don't care if the whole world explodes. All you know is you love him. And this - - THIS is YOUR time with him. FINALLY. After staring at him through all of 6th grade, hoping he'd notice you. Letting him beat you at handball at recess (even though you are wayyy better), and giving him your favorite slice at lunch on Pizza Day. After all that work and investing your time, here he is. Finally yours. You’re rolling around on the grass – Bill in his rainbow OP t-shirt and you in your Levi’s cut-off shorts and butterfly halter top. You can hardly believe this is your life now. You’re beyond planning your summer with him - - you’re planning your life. You’ll get a cool apartment in North Hollywood and a VW bug – light blue! Aerosmith will sing at the wedding, and you’ll get two dogs. No. THREE dogs…. Wait… WAIT! What?? Ugh. DAMMIT! Mom. HOW did she find us! M-O-M!! Bill! Bill! Where are you going??? Mom! Let go of my arm! I love him mom! UGH! Why are you ruining my life?????!!! Bill! BILL!!!!

El sonido es bueno. Eso se agradece, pero la presentacion del disco deja mucho que desear, sobre todo por el precio del disco, aunque el artista lo vale. Dos discos en una sola funda delgada, los discos no son de 180gr, los inserts son muy sencillos, la funda de papel delgado. Si fuera un folder se agradeceria. El disco es magnifico, pero esos cuidados se agradecerian.
