Essential Tool for Accurate Case Measurements
The Hornady HK55 Lock-N-Load Headspace Kit is perfect for my reloading needs. It works flawlessly for measuring case headspace, helping me ensure consistency and safety in my reloads. Even though it comes without the body, it integrates seamlessly with my existing setup. If you're serious about precision reloading, this is a must-have tool in your kit.

Great tool for those seeking additional accuracy from their hand loads
If you already have the bullet comparator set for measuring your over all length off the bullet ogive, then this headspace gauge bushing set is for you and for everyone else who doesn't already have the body that these mount into you would need to purchase the kit that includes the body with it. There are a few of you who asked questions regarding whether this would work with your caliber you are loading for and I gave each of you specific answers to whether these would work or not, but for the rest of you who may not see your caliber listed there is a quick and easy formula for figuring this out. I will use the 6.5 Creedmore as an example since it isn't listed in the chart. Take the shoulder outside diameter and subtract the neck outside diameter (some may have an outside diameter at the base of the shoulder). Now take this difference and divide by 2. Now take this number and either subtract it from the shoulder measurement or add it to the neck measurement to determine which bushing is right for your caliber. So it will look like this and you can see where I got my measurements from one of the pics above. .462 - .295 = .167/2 = .0835 .462 - .0835 = .3785 round up to .379 (too large for bushing C .375 so use bushing D .400) .295 + .0835 = .3785 round up to .379 I have already used this tool after receiving it yesterday to determine my headspace for both of my 7mm Rem Mag rifles. I started by taking cases that I had already fired through both of these rifles and measured them all looking for the longest measurement which in my case was 2.129" while the others were all consistent at 2.123-2.124". So I took the 2.129" case and inserted it into each of my rifles to determine how easily if at all the bolt would close and even though it would, it was hard to close the bolt. I made this my maximum headspace for reach rifle which is nice so I can set my shoulder bump the same for all my cases. Now that I have this information I can use this tool to check the headspace of all of my cases after being fired and resized to make sure they are all at 2.127" since I'm going for a .002" shoulder bump to give my cases less manipulation and more longevity. Having the ability to make my ammo as consistent as possible on all aspects from case length, to primer pocket uniformity, to OAL measured from the ogive rather than from the tip (tip measurements aren't accurate), to neck turning for concentricity, to bullet runout, and of course headspace. Headspace consistency is a must for consistent pressures and velocities because you know that the case volume is equal across all of your cases so when your powder charge is ignited it creates equal pressure inside the case for you to get consistent velocities from the bullet being propelled through the barrel. I highly recommend this tool to those seeking more accuracy from their loads. Keep in mind that if you're like me and use a dial caliper you will need to do a little math to figure out your headspace measurement because you can't zero your caliper like the digital ones can. In my case the body and bushing measure exactly 2" which made the math very easy and I showed this in the picture above.

Must Have for Reloading
Works well, but I wish it fit better on my [two different] calipers. It can rock back & forth a little bit on the flat of the blade.

Watch which caliber you wish to check for shoulder bump
Many have stated they use this set for the 300AAC Blackout but with the shoulder angle of 23 degrees this precludes using any of the included gages. The 6.8 uses the same angle but the bore is too small. You can either drill out the hole as I did or use the Sinclair/Brownell at a higher price for the 300. Otherwise, this is a great set and works as well with Sinclair gage inserts.

Accurate
I first bought a Chinese knockoff and failed to return it in time. That one was very inconsistent - gave different readings depending on how I tightened it and held the cartridge. Threw that in the trash. The Hornady gauges give consistent readings, which I needed. I believe that you can get even more accurate gauges (Sinclair?), but the Hornady does the job fine for me. Just avoid the aftermarket stuff.

This is a fantastic product and is very easy to use. It allows the ability to adjust sizing by only a few thousandths of an inch for any given rifle.

- When held in front of a light, it's not completely flat (has a shallow ridge around the hole opening. - Also, it stops mating perfectly to the anvil when the screw is tightened. - Because accurate reloading is a game of 0.001", these tools should be perfect.
