I’ve not used these before so was a little surprised by what a difference they made. Bathroom sinks are now draining very quickly. Good value for money. Delivered quickly.

I'm just buying my second packet of these for use in the shower. I find that they help to get rid of trapped hair and keep the trap completely clear, but they can't work miracles. You can't shove them into an existing blockage, or expect them to cope alone with masses of long hair going down every day. I use a drain protector as well, but because the plug hole in my shower is flush with the base of the shower tray, the protector (which is flat), can't stop all hairs. Hairs used to eventually build up in the trap and cause a smelly blockage. Since using these sticks, there is no build-up. If our shower had a recessed plug hole, like in most baths, I would fit one of the recessed plug hole protectors which would stop almost all of the hairs. Then a kettle of boiling water every couple of weeks would get rid of any smell, and hopefully any slight build up. Don't do that if you use these these sticks though, I suspect that boiling water wouldn't do them any good. For me, they are a great solution. Make sure you store them in a dry place after opening, because they eventually attract moisture and go soft, tending to break up a little when you get them out of the packet.

Used a similar product before and seemed to work well. Bought these ones and upon opening the amazon packaging it was immediately obvious that the majority of the sticks were broken. This wasn't an issue with the previous brand as they were wooden sticks impregnated with the enzymes which would soften over 3-4 weeks before being flushed away from the sink trap. These ones are a sort of hard wax. As these were largely broken, they would flush away on the first use. I did manage to get 3 whole sticks, but these didn't seem to last more than 24 hours. Maybe the hot water softened them, and they flushed away. Would have liked to have tested them properly but sadly not had the opportunity.

I have suffered smelly kitchen sink drain for years and really slow to empty water. Tried these and problem solved. I know when to insert a new one as I wake up to a slight drain smell again. There isn't a fragrance given off from the product itself but that isn't necessary as what's important is it stops the drain smell. The water empties quickly now too. I will continue to buy this product as I'm really impressed - very simple, eco friendly solution. Also, others have said these arrived broken - mine were all in tact so no issues there.

Smell clean, haven’t had them long enough to know how good they are but every single stick turned up broken which is disappointing and makes using them more cumbersome. I also wonder whether the parts will just wash away immediately because they’re small.

... and am very pleased with these sticks. We moved to our house last October, and we noticed that unpleasant seage smells quite often emanated from the kitchen sink. Then I stumbled upon these sticks, and had never heard of them. Read a bunch of reviews, and as it was mostly positive, I thought I'd give them a try. I purchased the lemon ones. You basically dump 1 in the sink hole once a month (I did it just before writing this review) and forget about it. Since we started using the sticks, we have not experienced the bad smells again. So they work. Before changing the stick, I checked the U bend of mysink just to check if the last 2 I have used actually disolved, since some reviews mentioned they didn't and ended up blockin their sink; and I am pleased to mention that there was nothing it mine, so they disolve as advertised. The only comment, is that I change them exactly 1 month after one another (I have a reminder in my calendar), so as there was nothing, they might last a bit less than 1 month. Regardless, we have not experienced smells, so all good. Other reviews mentioned that the sticks break easily, or were broken when recieved. Mine weren't, and I am carefull when taking them out the package. That said, once they are in the U bend, I do not think that it matters much if it is in 1 piece. Maybe small pieces might flush away with the water? So why the 4 stars only? Well, as mentioned I purchased the lemon sticks, but I cannot smell any lemon whatoever. Even when I just change it. So for me the extra £2.50 of the scented sticks are not worth it. So my next purchase will be the unscented ones. I assume they work exactly the same; I doubt that the lemn scent is what tackles the sewage smell we experienced. I guess I will review the unscented ones next year to let you know! But I would definitely recommend them!
