Savon Marseille Palm Soap Cube, 400 grams, Made in France

I read many the comments and first of all this soap is not that huge. It’s about the size of three regular soaps combined into a cube and it will not last a year unless you shower at once a month I shower daily and it’s starting to wear. I must say it lather amazingly regarding the smell. It is not strong. It’s earthy, which is expected and I like earthy an amazingly it leaves you squeaky clean and when I get out the shower, my skin is not dry, which is good. I’ve always had normal to dry skin iron now that I’m old my skin is dry to extra dry, which is why I purchased this. And the smell does not linger as the comments say. So this is soap is not huge it does not smell strong. The only common denominator is that it is somewhat pricey. However, if you have very dry skin or eczema, it is worth the money as I said it has amazing lather. And the comment regarding cutting the soap in three sections it would be tiny. Do you have a great day? AFTER ONE WEEK No need to apply lotion, below the knees were silky smooth and unexpected. As stated I had dry to normal and now in my senior years dry to extra dry. It is now February 20th, and in Texas, the weather went from teens to summer in mid 80’s now dropping this morning in 40’s, by Sunday low thirty’s and below my knees are now dry needing moisturizing lotion which I have not used for some time and prior to using this olive oil soap I would need to use several times a day to avoid itching. It's critical that I always have a supply of this olive oil soap on hand due to severe skin allergies Every other product on the market causes burns, blisters, otherwise known as acute contact dermatitis, etc due to the chemicals contained therein. Here in the US, all the products contain fillers and fragrance that causes harm. It's pretty sad that one has to go all the way to France for safe soap. Thank God this old French soap recipe and method still exists. Thank God for the Marseilles soap makers. Over time, I've realized this soap is a powerhouse. First of all, it's safe for people like me to use and it's great for lowering your toxic load in/on your body. I will not order anything but the green olive oil block. Nothing else. Not the palm oil block, not the shea butter stuff. No thanks to fillers, perfumes. It's also low waste. Not a lot of trash. I wish it didn't come in a plastic wrapper as these soaps need to be aired out anyway. Air out your soap blocks when they arrive. They need to air out and harden. They'll last longer when you do this. Also, get a little wooden soap rack or dish. If the soap sits on a surface with water it'll dissolve. Your soap needs to dry out between uses. It'll last longer. I use this for everything, laundry, dishwashing, hair washing (yes! crazy right?), house cleaning. It's an excellent degreaser says the machinist in the house. It removes coffee ring stains off the coffee mugs instantly. I can tell this is authentic olive oil soap by its not-so-loved "petro" scent. Reminds me of the scent of new tires. I actually love it. No fragrance means no damage to my skin. Fragrance is a notorious allergen. My one complaint is that this soap isn't always in stock when I need it. I've jumped from supplier to supplier so when I see it in stock I buy as much as I can afford.

This is the best soap for sensitive skin in my experience. The smell is different but I really like it once I got used to it. This is the only soap I use now. It’s expensive for soap but it lasts a long time and totally worth it! It’s one of the little luxuries I will always have on hand.

I mean, this is just a comically large hunk of soap. It's not only unnecessary but its size is literally too cumbersome to use- it's so heavy and of course once you add water it becomes slippery and then a hazard. If you dropped this on your toe you're going to the ER. As such, children and elderly probably cant/won't use it- not to mention it won't fit into a soap dish. Then again, the soap itself is good... so. Pros: The actual soap and its properties are good. I purchased this and waited 2 weeks for it to come because I need soap that won't completely dry out my hands in the winter. This is a really great formulation of soap- it cleanses well without completely stripping all the moisture from your skin. I can use it multiple times/day, it cleanses well, but my knuckles aren't cracking. Cons: The size is stupid. Truly. This is enough soap for 3 years, and it will be dried out before I get to use it all because it's so big. The shape is stupid. I don't care if its a historic brand/size/shape- it's dumb. My 7 year old can barely pick it up, I've dropped it in the sink as soon as its wet, and it doesn't fit in any soap holder. Also, the smell is really not great. It smells kind of like melted crayons and playdough? I recognize many people don't want fake fragrances mixed in but just know the olive oil version definitely does have a smell, and it's honestly borderline bad. So, what to do? Well, you could do what I did. If you look at the block it really could just be split into 3 regular sized pieces of soap. I first softened the soap in my microwave for 30 seconds- I did 10sec and then flipped it over, repeated twice more. Then I used a straight bench scraper to divide it into 3 equal sized pieces. I put the two extra pieces in a ziplock for later, hopefully they won't dry out before I get to them. I read if you use something that's too 'wedge' shaped like a chef's knife it may crumble/break which is another reason I softened it first in the microwave before cutting it up.

A staple in my kitchen! I switched over to this dish soap a few years ago and have never gone back. Not only does it last, sometimes up to year, it cleans just a good as regular dish soap and is environmentally friendly. I have noticed that grease is a little harder to remove, yet still comes off. For the money it’s well worth it.
