Collapsable & Solid Musky net!
Netted a 44", 40" & 30" musky on my last trip with no problems, perfect/ necessary size for musky.

Great colal
Great muskie net. I have a bass boat so storage is slim for a net this size. It collapses and sets up easy and I use a rod strap to secure it to the deck. Landed 5 solo muskies this season with a 43" as my best and had no issues.

Great musky net!
Bought this for my husband for musky and northern fishing. Features work great as expected and the quality is really nice. We liked the construction better than the frabill net that is similar and so we went with this Stowmaster instead. Really deep net depth, maybe a little overkill for us, but it won't let any fish out of the net once in! Love the coated netting and it seems like it will really last a lot of years! So far this summer, we love this net and would recommend to trophy fishermen!

Large, compact and strong
I go to Canada every other year to Muskie fish and I was looking for a strong net that was collapsible to free up some room on the boats. We just got back and I thought i would write a review of the products i used and let people know how they performed. On our trip we caught some good fish 45", 42" 40" 38". This net worked out great! it stored away nicely, unfolded as advertised and did a great job. The hinge system worked without any issues however it took a couple of fish to master how it unfolded. This net was a great investment that should perform well for years to come.

Good net but the netting is cheap
I bought this net for Musky fishing in a canoe down small rivers. I also have the frabil stow net and they are almost the exact same net. I netted 80 muskies with this net last year including fish well over 50" and it performed well and got the job done. The only thing I dont like is theyve gone cheap with the netting. They made the netting thinner and small to reduce harm on the fish. It does work perfectly in that aspect compared to other nets ive used. This net protects the slime coat and I didnt have any muskies with cut fins or any cuts from the netting which was really nice. The muskies cut holes in the netting though with there teeth. You get the fish in the net it goes crazy and this netting just sticks in the fishes mouth compared to other nets and the fish tears it apart. I had to tie prob about 7-8 large holes in the netting last summer from fish ripping it apart. I expect more from a 200$ net. Other then that this is a great net performs great. The prob is if your like me and need a folding net you dont even really have any other options besides the frabil. The frabil has the same netting as the stowmaster with the same problem. If I had to choose Id def pick the stowmaster it feels stronger and more well built then the frabil. Both nets are pretty much the same though "same design" so you really cant go wrong.

BIG GAME THIS IS YOUR NET HVY DUTY
Large net very deep as well folds into half bad a$$. This net is thin but plastic coating to protect fish slime protection and hooks from getting into it. Down side the net is on the heavy side and the handle has sharp edges where it separates and could scrape / cut your hands if you've have those baby soft skin like mine haha , but you can use a dermal to smooth it out. Too big for me wish there were a OPEN picture of it so I could judge before buying it , thank Amazon for a EASY fast return and credit. I'm gonna do you all a BIG favor and post a open net on my front door, the net is deep to reach my chest I'm 5'7''. Total length of the whole net is 116' end to end. Help other buyers review this post by giving a star, thumbs up, mark helpful whatever it take to pass the news of this nets size. Thank You Keep those lines tight Rudy out!

Great net
See below for original review. I have to add to my review and change my rating. Unfortunately the replacement net has a cheap bag. Thin netting, not dipped. Unacceptable for the price. I have requested they send me a quality bag or I will be returning the net and going with Frabil. First musky in the bag, a 43" fish, got seriously tangled in the thin netting. It cut off one of his pectoral fins. Additionally the hooks on the lure became hopelessly tangled in the net and had to be cut. This never happened with the old model, and I netted over 100 muskies with it. It took over 20 minutes to cut the hooks, untangle the net, and release the fish. Kept the net in the water while doing all this, but the fish struggled, went belly up at one point. She revived and went off strong, but I was very unhappy. This is my 2nd one. First one went overboard in 90' of water. Awesome net, had the first one for 5+ years and it saw a lot of fish. My only issue is they went with much smaller diameter bag with the newer net. I worry it might damage a musky, and hooks seem to get tangles much easier. Used it on a 46" musky and the hooks damaged the fish when they got tangled. I had to get the fish unhooked quickly because its head was out of water with the tangles. Tore up her mouth pretty badly. One good thing about the thinner netting is less drag when netting while trolling. That was tough with the previous net.

StowMaster TS116Y Review
I gave the StowMaster only a rating of 3 out of 5. I do actually love this net (rating of 5) and wanted to give it a 5 but it has changed over the years. We use this net in our line of work for capturing, landing, sampling and then releasing Chinook salmon. This net when collapsed and folded fits well into a small plane and especially a helicopter. The "newer" style webbing is weak and this season I had on two different occasions where the Chinook salmon plowed right through the net webbing. Last season I had some net webbing made up from scrap seine webbing to use as replacement webbing since Stowmaster went the weaker webbing. The replacement seine webbing I had made up works far superior to what comes on the current landing net. Another weak point of this net is that the net hoop (the aluminum) tubing has a weak point where it comes back into the main handle pole bracket. There is a sharp bend in this location and even when the net is brand new you can see stress marks in the sharp bend causing a weak spot. Reason I mention all of this is that last year as well as this year 2013 we had Chinook salmon weighing up to 50-60 lbs thrashing in the net and the entire hoop snapped off without us forcing any resistance other than attempting to control the fish in the webbing. We did not try to lift the net at all. I would like to suggest that Stowmaster go back to the tougher nylon webbing they had in the past and attempt to engineer a gusset welded or somehow attached to the sharp bend in the hoop to give it better structural integrity with large fish. As mentioned this net is a super net for being lightweight and compact for helicopter work but some of the changes that have been made are not good, especially for the price we are paying and the net only lasts a day or two out in the field. I have praise for this net but it needs some improvement and hopefully StowMaster will consider what has been discussed if they themselves read this review. Good fish'n folks
