Go-To for critical incidents
I won't lie, this stuff is expensive. Why? Because it's worth it. When dealing with trauma out in the field, many deaths are preventable by stopping blood loss. Many tactically minded people are packing IFAK kits. You never know when it will come in handy (even something like witnessing a car accident - seconds can count when blood starts flowing). The biggest benefit to Celox is that it is treated with a hemostatic agent. When you need to pack a wound, this is the stuff to use. In addition, it's not like other gauze that you might find in a $20 first aid kit. This is heavy duty stuff. If you've ever worked with it, you've seen the difference immediately. When seconds count, don't mess around. Don't cheap out. Every IFAK kit needs this.

Perfect size
After a trauma first aid class, I put together my "30 second" kit. You have 4 minutes to deal with an obstructed airway or cardiac arrest. You have 30 seconds to deal with a cut artery. I took an old glucose monitor kit pouch, gloves, tourniquet and clot gauze to make a personal pocket size kit. This package is thin enough to keep the combination cargo pocket size. Hope to never use any of these items. If needed, no paramedic can get there fast enough to help. Plan for the worst and hope for the best. Most people skip the planning part and spend their life hoping for the best.

The latest hotness.
A retired SF instructor dude in my recent FEMA sponsored TECC ("tactical" emergency casualty care) course, not to be confused with TCCC, recommended these new Celox Rapid z-fold guaze for extremity wound packing and less minor surface wounds. Ok, check. Ordered two to update a few aging MARCH trauma first aid kits. Too easy. The old ones will go into the [training use only] bag. One is none, two is one, three is fun, and 10 makes for 5-10 MARCH kits. Trauma First Aid MARCH kit: M - Massive Hemorrhage A - Airway R - Respiratory C - Circulation H - Head injury & Hypothermia First get formally trained, and then get properly equipped. The life you save may be your own.

Almost perfect
Perfect size for an IFAK and a bigger square than the quick clot brand gauze that's sold on Amazon. Had to take a star off though because it does not have a dye for surgeons to find all of the gauz when in the OR
