Loved the fluidity. I did two coates of 4 paintings and used less than one quarter cup of varnish. I purchased a varnish brush which was fine. Just be aware of looking carefully as you work to pick off any loose brush hairs that may have come off. Clean up was not difficult. I patted off any varnish on the brush with a paper towel, dipped the bristles in abit of olive oil and worked it in to remove residue, wiped and patted off once more than washed with warm water and a drop or two of Dawn dish soap, rinsed and let dry! Highly recommend!

A very nice finish, not too thick. It’s excellent! Try it you’ll like it.

This item is simple to use. I dip a spong brush into the project and paint a nice gloss over my finished art work. Doesn’t have an offensive odor and dries smooth.

Great product if you can unscrew the cap. Gamblin needs to do better. Pushing down and turning the cap was never going to work like our previous purchase had. We tried and tried. Cap had to be defective. The only way we got the cap off was my husband taking a wrench and just pulling it off.

I have never used the gloss before. I absolutely loved how it made my painting pop! Highly recommend

I purchased an antique oil painting from a British seller, sight unseen. It was painted between 1905-1915 and was quite dirty. I had used white vinegar to successfully clean other old paintings I've purchased. But, I am an idiot. I used rubbing alcohol by mistake and completely ruined the painting. It was washed out, the colors dim, pale. I had owned it for less than 24 hours and felt terrible for the artist who lovingly painted it more than one hundred years ago and for myself for being such a stupid boob. I know absolutely nothing about art restoration, yet I googled ruined oil painting, found the Gamblin picture varnish and decided I had nothing to lose by trying it. It came back a bit after the first coat I brushed on, so I did a second, third and finally a fourth. It looks great! The colors revived, there is a beautiful shine to the work. Obviously, this is not as good as a painting lovingly cared for but better than it looked when it arrived from the seller. I'm happy I can enjoy the painting as I'd hoped to when I purchased it. Highly recommend, but most likely far better in the hands of an actual artist, not a do it yourself art cleaner!
