This made such a difference when our dog had an op. With this she was able to eat and play as normal instead of bashing into everything with the vets plastic cone. This was much more comfortable for her to sleep as it was more like a pillow. It kept her away from the surgical site without any problem

Lovely alternative to the dreaded “cone of shame”. My dog recently had an op and I wanted to make sure he was as comfy as possible during a long recovery. This was a great buy - although I brought the wrong one by mistake, this is almost identical, cheaper and just as effective as the one I intended to buy.Pros:- lovely and soft (no scratches to furniture from the stiff plastic of normal cones etc)- seems robust/ thick material , with a fabric type cover, not just plastic. Still washable.- comfortable for sleeping- dog can see and move more freely (the old cone would restrict his field of vision and he would catch the cone on door frames etc- the donut just acted as a cushion)!- easier to fit dog into a crate than trying to allow him to turn around wearing a regular cone.,- neck sizing was good. Simple but effective/ strong Velcro fastening. Hasn’t managed to pull it over his head/ take it off.Cons:- the diameter of the donut is quite small. My dog is long with long legs so he could still reach the wound on his knee if he wanted to. The donut did seem to act as a deterrent though. Would be perfect for neuter, torso or hip surgery/ injuries.- blowing it up was a bit of a struggle. You have to bite hard onto the inner/ wider part of the value to get it to open. Fine once you know. Otherwise you look a bit of a plonker at the vet not being able to inflate it! Test before you need it!- not really a con, but I liked the shark design. But it has ‘fins’ on the side. I though these might be too tempting for my other dog- and his recovery wouldn’t be helped by having her swinging from them as he hobbled by.

The cone my dog was provided with was too big and he needed help drinking and feedingI got this donut the following day. It was securely packagedI did struggle initially to blow it up but with more careful reading it was easy.My dog has good vision with it and can eat and drink independently. The cone is lighter than the other and he seems comfortable when sleeping. My dog has short legs so he cannot get to his wound but I don’t think it would be suitable for a dog with a long muzzle and longish legs.I’m very pleased with my purchase and my dog is much more comfortable.

I bought this for my pet French Bulldog who is a fairly small sized pet and whilst the collar itself seemed comfortable its Velcro fastening was a little loose and he was at times able to shake it off. I ended up buying a plastic alternative which was probably less comfortable but more practical. Was easy top inflate.

Much easier on the dog than a cone - my rottie was FREAKED OUT by the cone but isn't bothered by this donut at all. It works perfectly to stop her scratching her cheek, but she can still twist round enough to chew her back feet, so won't be suitable for every situation

Soft material, good inner loops to secure collar safely. Strong velcro. Comfortable for my 30kg Labrador to wear. He can still reach and lick his back paw, below his hock on his lower leg. This is the area he has a sore, so has not been successful. Although he (my dog) is happy to wear the donut, and it prevents him going full on lick mode on his back paw. It allows me to stop him frequently when he is contorting himself to lick!

These are really good and cheaper than the hard plastic cones usually fitted by vets. I originally ordered an XL for my show strain English Springer Spaniel of 22kg. She had emergency pyometra surgery and the doughnut worked perfectly but was too large a diameter for her neck. I contacted the supplier and without any hesitation arranged for a Large size to be sent out without any further cost and I was told to retain the XL - amazing and unexpected customer service. Although the Large size fitted better around her neck it was unsurprisingly less bulky. Both rings prevented my dog reaching her surgery wound but did not prevent her from reaching her rear end. She is very long in the body and extremely flexible. I found that the XL worked best for my dog once I fitted her collar to the inside and tightened it up preventing it from being removed either by her or accidentally. I found that it was best to inflate it with a pump rather than trying to blow it up by mouth as I was able to inflate it fully. Overall much better than a cone and more comfortable as she even used it as a pillow whilst wearing it.

Easy to use

Bought this for our puppy 5 yrs ago and worked perfectly for his neuter. I think it sprung a leak just at the end of his end of use, but it worked beautifully. I just bought this for our kitten’s spay. We didn’t have a regular cat collar for her as she is an indoor cat. Anyway, she scooted out of it every single time. As it was the weekend we had to run back to the vet to get one of their collars which work, but are very uncomfortable. Then we realized this collar would work if we purchased a regular collar that fits in the three enclosures fitted exactly for this product. Just received her collar today, and there is no way she can get out of this collar. She is super happy and comfortable with this one, and it works as intended. So happy with this collar, now twice purchased both for our puppy and now our kitten. She loves sleeping on her little cushion, can eat without the cone bstruction, but also can see properly. I highly recommend this collar and I wouldn’t hesitate to buy again!

Easy to use. Easy to wash. And comfortable for my dog. It feels like an airplane travel pillow. Comes with a patch kit as well if it were to get punctured.(Pictures have some of my dogs blood on it from her stitches sorry)

Compré este collar inflable de la marca BENCMATE para el postoperatorio de mi perra tras una cirugía importante de ligamentos en la pata trasera, y ha sido la mejor decisión que pudimos tomar.En el veterinario le colocaron el típico collar isabelino de plástico, pero era excesivamente grande; el plástico le sobresalía tanto de la boca que el pobre animal no podía ni comer ni beber de su cuenco. Buscando una alternativa encontré este modelo inflable y el cambio fue radical:Eficacia para la zona trasera: Solo hay que soplarlo, hincharlo y ponérselo. Limita el ángulo de movimiento del cuello de forma muy efectiva. Al ser mi perrita de tamaño chico, no llegaba en absoluto a lamerse la cicatriz ni a tocarse los puntos de la pata de atrás, por lo que cumplió su función médica al 100%.¡Aviso para perros grandes!: Hay que tener en cuenta que este collar es ideal para proteger ciertas partes del cuerpo. Al no ser tan aparatoso como el cono de plástico, si el perro es más grande o tiene el hocico largo, es posible que sí llegue a alcanzarse las patas delanteras. Conviene vigilarlo según la zona que queráis proteger.Comodidad para el animal: A diferencia del de plástico, con este collar sí podía comer, beber y descansar perfectamente apoyando la cabeza como en una almohada. No se agobiaba y hacía su vida normal dentro de sus limitaciones.Práctico: Una vez que termina el proceso de recuperación, se desinfla por completo y no ocupa casi nada de espacio guardado en cualquier cajón.Para nosotros fue un alivio verla pasar el postoperatorio sin la angustia del plástico. Si tenéis que operar a vuestra mascota y la herida está en la zona de atrás, lo recomiendo totalmente por comodidad y tranquilidad.
